About Me

I grew up in an urban setting. I schooled with Indians, Arabs and my livelihood as a primary school pupil saw me as a very shy boy. I am one of the children who listened to the teacher and still had to work my bum off to make sure that I got a good grade.

As I grew up, I noticed that families around us were well-to-do and I promised myself that my children would not encounter the hardship that I encountered in my childhood. It’s never easy growing up with rich children/classmates that got everything they wanted and you didn’t.

High school was where I discovered my talent. I escaped my shyness and poverty mentality by studying hard and being an active participant in drama club. I would say high school for me was where I knew that I was different from people who go to school to become employed and the people who are cut out to do business.

I watched my mum start businesses, which supported us all through our lives, and I admired that just from her brain she would sit down and think of a product that she would sell and make a profit. Her thinking fascinated me and, again, that was yet another reason why I decided to go into business.

Well, what I wasn’t prepared for is the hardship that comes with business. I did my best to try and do odd businesses here and there, but capital and at times street smartness were things that weighed me down.

However, given that, I began working on my own right from high school, and, by the time I spend two years in college, I knew that business was a field cut out for tough people. So I developed a thick skin. Hence the reason why I am here!

My Business

I am an online entrepreneur. I work as an affiliate marketer and I create websites that introduce people to digital products that will help them change their lives/health for the better. My experience as an online marker has really taught me a great deal of online world and how it works.

Let’s be honest, ever since the introduction of the World Wide Web, the world has literary become a global village. To make sure that the marketplace (Internet) is thriving, people like me have to help ease the moving of products and services. I create websites purposely for affiliate marketing. An affiliate marketer works as an agent who uses his website to get more traffic and generate sales on behalf of the product owner. My websites, as stated earlier, help people better their health and their lives.

I specialize in the health, education and relationship sectors. These are critical niches for many people today. We live in a DIY world now, and everybody wants to do something freely through guidance. My websites help people discover how they can better their lives.

The loan from Zidisha will help me invest in a Chromebook, as I have encountered numerous power interruptions using a desktop computer. In a week, every two to three days we have power interruptions, and I am forced to go work in a cyber cafe which is expensive.

With the loan, I will be able to add it up to my savings and purchase a Chromebook that has a battery life of 6.5 hours before charging. This will be a great addition to my business, as now I can work from the comfort of my home and never have to stay without working.

I will also use the funds to get a UPS that I'll connect my internet router to for four hours while power goes off, and I can save on the money I use to pay for internet connection when I work at a cyber cafe.

Loan Proposal

My loan will help me acquire a Chromebook. The laptop is portable and has a long battery life, which is dire in my business. Plus, with a Chromebook, I'll be able to freelance and work from any place without being grounded in one place!

My Business

Duncan Munene is my name, and I am a Kenyan online entrepreneur. I double up as an article writer/content creator and an affiliate marketer.
The latter business (Affiliate Marketing) has seen me use Youtube and various websites to learn how to design sites and come up with compelling content to promote digital products.
As an affiliate marketer, I target the health and relationship niche as a means of helping people improve their well-being and improve themselves and become better people in their relationships.
My four years plus experience as an online entrepreneur has taught me a great deal about the world, how it functions and what part the internet is playing to brighten our future.
Speaking honestly, since the World Wide Web was introduced, the world continues to become a global village. To ensure that the online marketplace thrives, entrepreneurs such as me play the role of middlemen, marketing the both digital and physical products on a virtual platform.

My extensive research online has helped me come across both free and paid courses that have helped me learn how to create sites that I dedicate for affiliate marketing.

Now I create content that sells/promotes products to the individuals who need them and every sale I generate I earn a commission.

My websites as stated earlier help people better their health and their lives. I specialize in the health, education, and relationship sector. These are critical niches for many people today.

We live in a DIY world now, and everybody wants to do something freely through guidance. My websites help people discover how they can better their lives.

The Loan PurposeThe purpose of applying for the loan is very easy. I need the loan amount to help me acquire a Chrome Book. The reason being since we live in a country where energy production is still not very excellent my business suffers from major an unannounced blackouts.

I could only afford to buy a desktop computer that I am currently using, and that means whenever there is a power interruption, I never get to do my work. In a week two to three days, we have power interruptions, and I am forced to go work in a cyber cafe that is expensive.

With the loan, I will be able to add it up to my savings and purchase a chrome book that has a battery life of 6.5 hours before charging. This will be a great addition to my business as now I can work from the comfort of my home and never have to stay without working.

The Chrome book I have my eye on is going for Kshs. 28,000, I already have Kshs 10,000 in my saving that I will contribute towards the purchase and the Kshs. 18,000 loan fund from Zidisha will come in handy.

I will also use the funds to get a UPS that I'll connect my internet router for four hours while power goes off. I will be able to save the money I use to pay for internet connection when I work at a cyber cafe.

This is my second loan application, and the first investment helped me acquire two more websites and used the funds to get them running. They have started gaining traffic, and it is within a matter of time that I will begin reaping. I am grateful for this opportunity and have told my friends of the good deeds zidizha.org is doing.

I thank you in advance

Yours truly
Duncan Munene
