About Me

I am Falex Onchere 29 years of age, born and grew in Nyanza. I am a third born in the family of 8, I have 4 brothers and three sisters. I was born in kisii community, a community where food (Ugali) is there main dish, every day they must have atleast once and currently and for the past 4years I have staid in the coast, I have adapted the lifestyle of the people at the coast and the land is unique with warm climate and the people are so friendly that is why you find many people of different set up residing at the coast for business. at the coast we also get many tourists who come to Kenya and Visit National parks like Tsavo and the warm sand beaches of mombasa indian ocean.concerning my education I managed to go through primary education and secondary though in secondary there were some challenges. By then our family background was so poor until I had to take my studies irregularly due to lack of school fees and my elder brother by then was in University and his immediate sister was doing her final secondary school education exam. I had to endure all the hardship of missing lesson until my elder brother concluded his degree and started paying for my school fees from the little amount he spared from his small salary. I had a dream to get better grade and join a good institution for higher learning but due to many challenges I scored average and joined a vocational college for diploma in supplies and management. My father sold the only family cows which they used to milk and paid the college fees for me and my elder sister because we joined at the same time. I concluded my diploma in 2010 and thereafter With the knowledge of entrepreneurship I acquired at the college I asked my brother who was by then working in Maandani secondary to assist me get a small photo copier, from there I managed to get a small cybershot camera and Epson printer which I am now using. I am not married though I am putting things together first but the little profit I make I use it to help my young siblings for school fees and basic commodities. I am planning if the deal I am having goes through to buy a video camera and acquire powerful machine to accommodate video shooting. But currently what I need is to get a good photo digital camera and a laptop and as time goes by to buy a rooter for easier and cheaper internet connection. As a hobby I spent my free time to listen to music and travel to visit friends and make more friends

My Business

After accomplishing my diploma course in supplies and management with no job experience I found it hard to get a Job, with much time I had and a little computer knowledge I had from college I said to myself, “I must start somewhere” so I asked my brother for assistance to help me start something to do as I waited to get a job. He assisted me to get one desktop and a small photo copier. This is after assessing the place where I stay in kaloleni giriama; there is a st. Johns girls high school, st. Lukes mission hospital/nursing school , kilifi mariakani water and sewerage company office which is next to my business. And by so doing I discovered the place to be potential for bureau services. Currently I do a lot of work for the clients I get from the three areas I have highlighted above. I print photos, cards and I do typesetting and printing, provide internet services like accessing emails, opening kra pin for clients, filling HELB forms for students, registration of TSC number for teachers and also do the filling of zidisha forms for individuals and that is how started learning about zidisha . Currently I am using a small camera for my photography services whose quality is not good; I want to get a better camera for better services.
I buy a ream of photocopying papers at ksh.400/= and photocopy at 3 per paper.
In a ream we have 500 papers, so in a ream I make a profit of 1100 shillings assuming that I did not do printing. If I add some printings it can go up to kshs. 1600 as a profit. I refill a cartridge at Kshs.1200 and it produces up 2000 papers, that is 4 reams of papers. Altogether with photo printing, photocopying and internet services I manage to get a revenue of kshs.1500 per day. From this profit I pay some for my siblings school fees, help my elderly parents, put stock to the business and I am saving little for my building project which I will begin any time soon God willing.
Thank you very much zidisha for what you are doing and I believe you will be able to make my dreams achievable through our cooperation.

Loan Proposal

I have expanded my business from bureau services and since November I started offering ICT training. I discovered that My computers needs to be upgraded; to purchase good capacity hard disks, Rams and training hand out material. This new year I am expecting to receive a tremendous number of students since most of the students did their high school examination and while waiting for results they need to train computer courses. Currently I have five computers and I will add more to manage the traffic of students in future thank you.
Falex.
