About Me

my name is hassan ali omar I was born at Rongai . My mother’s name was amina Ali and she was a single mum. She was daughter to mzee Ali and salama my grandmother. She had one brother called Hassan mzee who was my uncle. She used to work at gicheha farm as a store keeper but had had to quite the job because of illness. After quitting we moved to kimangu farm where my mum had a single share of land. She built a house there. At the time I was just starting school. My mum died when I was in nursery school. I was left at the care of my brother Omar who was still in college, since he could not bring me up and at the same time study, he asked my aunt who lived with his husband in Nairobi to take me in and help him with bringing me up.
I have 5 siblings and i am the last born in our family of 5 brothers and a sister. I have 4 first cousins from my uncle’s side and several second cousins.
My mother was a nyamwezi and I hear that my father was a kalenjin. My four brothers are married and have children. My sister too is married with 2 kids a daughter and a son. Myself I have not yet officially married but I have a daughter named Clarice and my fiancée her mum is called Judy Nduati. That is why I have to work while still studying in order to provide for them and also pay for my education.
I started my education at ngoga primary school in Rongai and later moved to al maktoum primary school in Nairobi’s komarock estate where i lived with my aunt and uncle after my mum passed on in 1997. I completed my primary school in 2005 and attained 362 marks in my kcpe exams. I joined chulaimbo secondary school where i scored an A plain in my kcse. After completing my form four exams I did not have anybody to support me because my aunt and uncle had their children joining college too so I had to find ways to sustain myself.
I enjoy technology a lot especially computers. I am good in soft wares and hardware too. I developed my passion when I was in class four and my cousin bout a Pentium 3 desktop computer that she used for her studies. I used to play games with it and type for her her assignments. I learned MS office in the process and later on when Pentium 3 computers were outdated I started using it to teach myself how to install operating systems on computers. I then started growing interest in internet theory and how it works.
After completing my k c s e I usually went to visit a friend of mine who owned a photocopying and printing booth. While chilling with him I slowly taught myself how to photocopy print and typeset. I perfected my knowledge of operating systems and how to change them from windows xp to windows 7 and Linux operating system.

My Business

The cyber I started is called Hasanet Communications which is my name added a net at the end. It is located in rongai town between kimangu bodaboda stage and the food market. I have 3 client computers and one server. All of them are Pentium four computers with processors ranging from 1.2 Ghz to 2.5 Ghz. The server is a dual core with 2.5 Ghz processor which does all the heavy lifting. The client computers are timed using cyber café pro 6 since it’s a free and easy to use timer.
I decided to start a cyber café in rongai since there was none at the time and also since it would be cheap for me to run it because I did not need anybody to do the networking and setups needed in the cyber for me.

I also with time managed to buy a photocopier and an Epson px660 printer which I use for picture printing and and general printing.on a slow day the bussiness makes a minimum of 500 Ksh and upto 4000 ksh on a good day.
here in rongai i am preffered because i am the only one with enough experience on internet and photocopying and printing stuff also because all other people who have tried to run a similar bussiness have failed due to alot of challanges mostly the running cost for the cyber if the owner is not knowledgeble enough. the challenges i face in this bussiness include having a hard time finding someone knowledgeble enough to run the business as I would want it run when am not around.
Also sometimes the profit margins drops so low that I have to boost the business from my own savings. This is because the people I employ may not be as hardworking as me.
All in all this business has seen me though college for three years and it is still where I get my cash to pay for all my feees. I plan to expand the business and start another branch in salgaa so as to improve my profitability.
