About Me

I am a husband to my single wife and a father to my five kids I am 54 year of age and my name is Michael Ndungu Gitundu ,I was born in a family of eleven being a first born in our family that is in year nineteen fifty six(1956) in Kiambu district Limuru in central province in Lari location at a village by the name Lare ,my home area is well know because of production of tea and more in cultivation of bananas , the climate at that area is favorable to this kind of plantation it is ever green and there is plenty of rain this the place is flat with no slopes having big shambas and large plantation of tea;being the first born in the family and my parent took their responsibility of taking me to school a nearby nursery school that is back in year nineteen sixty one (1961) and after about three years I had qualified to join class one in nineteen sixty four(1994) and after seven years of my study I qualified for my Certificate of primary education (.C .P.E) in year 1971 in Kituamba primary school, I was among the lucky one who were considered to join one ot the secondary schools that was there in the central province and in 1992 I joined Lari secondary school until year 1975 where I sat for my form four final examination i.e K.C/S.E After my secondary education I did not contue to any of the coleages or university mainly due to lack of resources nad my parent lacked shool fees to pay fees to enable me to continue this forced me to stat serching for varios job and in the process I was eployeed at Upland barkery in Kiambu center were I worked for seven years,after that I was employeed to another company i.e TOTAL oil where I served there for three years,, I later decided to have a family and married a wife Regina Njeri and we were blessed with 5 kids I later migrated to Kiambogo town and boughgt a piece of land where I setted with my family ,all are in school,two in Vision primary school and other two are at Munanda primary school while my last born is in a pre unit baby care school . I was later employeed to work at one of the secondary school as a surbordinate worker where I worked for 14 good year from there I bought a motoy cycle to help me in farming were it rely help me much interm of transport i.e goinging to the shamba and back to home I am well know to many people especially at korogocho and Kiptagwanyi we live in plot no 279 together with my entire family while I carry out my farming and bissiness I am also a member of Brightlight S.H.G where I am a member till now ,I am an active member and a devoted Christian of A.I.C Kiptagwanyi .

My business is mixed farming
My business includes mixed farming,i.e planting of maize ,bean ,tomatoes and green vegetable eg sukumawiki cabbages ,carrot ,my business entail renting of shambas at Nyatoro which is five kilomwter from our home and five and half kilometer from Kiambogo trading center where by many people here usually rent shambas at that area because the place is between two valleys and it is a slope area and it si well known at our place for production of this product especially maize and beans,where by usally rely on the place have.good climate which is fevourable for this variety of crop. I decided to start the business of mixed farming after realize there is a ready market for this product especially beans and maize because the place is well known in the whole of Gilgil in producing beans/maize and distributing in various instituation llike scools and colleages which are withine this area and other part of our mojor town like Naivasha and there is no season for planting the crop even in dry season because we always a wet climate from our nearby forest Mau Narok forest which make it cool and wet throughout the year for maize, and other vegetable also the land have ever been cultivated thus it is the first time to be cultivated making it season after season and the place is fertile. The businesses capture 80 percent of the market share in our area and in Naivasha disrict in general due to availability of high produce thus making our place famous in producing even green vegetables and green maize in dry season, also the business is expected to grow due to the ready market of the product especially for tomatoes because many people from major town such as far as Nakuru and Naivasha and other big town come to buy freash and green maize and vegetable and tomatoes at this area and the mean of transport is available and the climate is favorable .They is a lot of demand of the product such as tomatoes, maize ,vegetable and fresh vegetable, also so many people here rely on this variety for livelihood because they buy at low price direct from our farm.
Most of the farmer in Nakuru county relies with livestock keeping thus making few of us to benefit from our business. The business will be profitable because climate is favorable to us enabling us to produce much farm produce even in during dry season. The risk facing the business is fluctuation of price of the product when production is high and poor transport during the rainy season, main challenge facing these business is lack of money starting from lenting the shamba up to harvesting time need one to have a lot of money, I manage to coop with some because I will manage to store the produce when the price come down. The goal of the business will to get profit and to satisfy the customer needs, the business fall under agriculture industry which has been growing very fast for past few years and it is expecting to have a bright future in term of modern farming. My vision about my business is expand from small farming to large scale farming whereby most of the farmers have been in large scale farming thus giving motivation to practice the type of farming. My monthly cost is khs 30000, sale revenue is around ksh 20000 and profit is above 10000 but in a year or one season of harvest I can even get up to 200000 of sale from my business of mixed farming and I am

dear leaders,thanks in advance for accepting my loan which i have been waiting for o long duration of time,first i will use 4000 to buy maize seed because this money have come at planting season ,second i had plan to buy another daily cow but for now i will use 3500 to buy more boilers and 1000 i will use to buy chickens just to add to my bissiness
