About Me

I am a married family man with four children. I live in Kiptangwanyi shopping center at plot number 856. I bought this piece of land in the year 2001. This was after a dry year of 2000 which did not go well to most of us and especially those of us who rent houses. It was such a difficult time for me and my family that I decided to own a piece of land to reduce the agony of renting a house and having problems with the landlord each an every time. My children are in school. I operate a cereals shop at the shopping center of Kiambogo. Kiambogo shopping center is about 2 kilometers from Kiptangwanyi shopping center. The major source of my products is a place called narianta and also Mau region is a good source of cereals. These two places are highly productive and thus I am able to get supplies for my customers. Once I have bought the cereals I store them and later supply them to small scale retailers within the nearest shopping centers. I also get tenders from both secondary and primary schools to supply them with cereals.

My Business

I operate a cereals shop at the shopping center. This is the business I usually rely on in order to meet my daily basic needs as well as the needs of my family. I have been in this business for over 20years now. This is quite a good experience and i have been able to educate my family through this business. Sometimes the business is affected by the bad weather conditions and other natural calamities.I have been able to get many customers for my business both individuals and even institutions. Maize is the most common cereal product that is usually on high demand. Beans also have high demand but they are only consumed at high levels during the months of May to September. The rest of the months of the year they are demanded in small quantities. I also do take my products to other major towns when the supply is high. The main challenges that this business encounter are drought and fluctuation of prices. the past three years have been very good for this business. I intend to improve the business to a higher level than the current one.

Loan Proposal

Dear Lenders,
Thank you for this great opportunity to get the loan from Zidisha organization. I will use this loan that I will be granted from the organization to do the following. One, I would like to use some part of the money to transport a good number of bags of maize to Nairobi at this moment when the price there is good. secondly, I will use this loan to purchase more cereals for sale during the months of March and April when the demand is usually high.
