About Me

My name is Silas Ooko ,I hold diploma in Certificate in environmental science from Egerton University and planning to pursue a degree in future once I make enough savings. I was Born and raised in Kisumu town to the late Michael ooko and Esther Ooko. I was not lucky to celebrate my 10th birthday with my parents as they had succumbed to unknown ailments which I was later told was HIV. Orphaned at tender age I grew up with my uncle and after competing secondary school ,my aunt who never liked me all along told me I was a grown up and I had to move back to our home. I found out that all tree my dad had planted had been cut down and turned into charcoal,i was so furious but just decided to plant more trees,I plant more and more trees. These is when I realized I had passion in environment conservation. I started selling seedlings to earn living and promote environmental conservation.I released I could do more and with the savings from the sell of seedlings I started selling energy saving bulbs. I have since expanded my shop and selling solar lamps and energy saving bulbs. I earn a living and fulfil my dreams of a better environment.
Kisumu town boarders Lake Victoria and a lot of fishing takes place here . There is also boat riding .
I like planting trees and during my free time I am either planting trees or educating youths on importance's of environment conservation.

My Business

I sell seedlings ,solar lamps .and energy saving bulbs with the aim of environment conservation and earning a living. I do peer education and door to sales so that I can educate my clients on the need of alternative energy sources and the importance of trees.
I choose these business because of my passion in environment conservation. It helps me earn a living and achieve my goal at the save time.
I spend $200 per month on buying stock,and rent . My monthly income is $350 . I use the finances to save for reinvestment ,college fees and donate a solar lamp to one lucky poor family per month.

Loan Proposal

I wish to borrow $100 to help me buy 1000 pieces of decomposable polythene bags that I would use for plant 1000 seedlings of trees for sale to various clients from across the country.I would majorly do oranges and paws because most people prefer fruit producing trees. These will help me rich my target of 2000 trees in the next two months and also earn revenue.Thank you
