I am a 29 year old university dropout living in my home town Mombasa. I was retrenched last year from a real estate company. I am now an online freelance writer and part time real estate broker. I got interested in small business ventures that require little time and bring constant source of revenue unlike both my income streams. I started delivering fresh milk to my neighborhood in the morning as one of the business ideas. Currently the business only occupies 1hr in the morning. I would now like to expand the business to beyond my neighbourhood
The reason for applying for this loan is to expand the doorstep milk delivery business i started. Fresh milk is a scarce commodity in Mombasa and people are forced to buy packed milk at double the price. Families with kids especially require the convenience of a door to door 'milkman'
i am currently only supplying 20l of milk to nearby households. The milk is sourced daily from a distributor at 35/= a litre and sold at 60/=. The reason i require the loan is to hire a motorbike daily to pick up a larger amount of milk from the source directly and to distribute to even more clients in the neighborhood. I also need to print more flyers for advertising my services. Later i can pack the milk in more hygienic packets
In the long run, i intend to source and supply at least 100l of milk daily in my very population dense neighborhood
I recently started a small fresh milk delivery service to my building in the morning. I source the milk from a milk depot and mark it up from 35/= to 50/= per litre. The milk depot is out of my neighborhood and people don't mind paying extra for the convenience. It is also still cheaper than packet milk.
I now want to expand the business into the whole neighborhood as i live in a very densely populated area and i believe milk is a basic commodity for most household. With this loan, I intend to increase my marketing fliers for milk orders. I have identified a place i can source the milk directly (a dairy farm) as the milk depot can only provide me with 20l daily. I also require a bike to be able to carry the milk around and packaging material to maintain hygienic standards.
I would be very grateful if you would help me expand my distributorship with this loan. My target is 100litres a day. I am currently using my daily profits for sustenance so it is hard to expand. I look forward to hearing from the lenders
