About Me

I am a married mother of two, a HR Consultant with Global Careers Company. I live in Nairobi, at a place called Kiamumbi, Kamiti Rd, off Thika RD. I've a passion for African accessories as far as I can remember. I make earrings and necklaces from beads, Ankara shoes and sandals, kitenge bags and kiondos (African bags made from sisal fibres). At first It started as a hobby; I would give out the accessories to my friends and family, just for fun. After sometime, I realized I can make money out of it. I booked space in Masaai market sometime back on Tuesdays and Saturdays to sell my wares.

My Business

The proceeds were not exciting as I had expected. I lacked funds to stock up. With a growing family, I opted back to employment. But my dream didn't die. I opened a Facebook page for my business https://www.facebook.com/Chiqglamafricancollections?ref=hl. With the increased exposure, its slightly picked up. Currently I don't make all of the stuff in the page, I have a couple of people helping me on that and earn a living out of it. Everything is custom made; you order we make. My main challenge is lack of funds. I wish to use this platform to expand my project, I have a couple of pending orders which I haven't been able to deliver. My dream is to make ready made products and supply to online shops i.e Jumia or Rupu. Kindly consider lending me the money to make my dream come true.

Loan Proposal

I plan to work on my selling strategies mainly because last year I concentrated selling my wares in Maasai market and it didn't work out very well.

I intend to make my accessories(Necklaces, earrings, Ankara shoes and sandals, bags) in bulk and post them on my business Facebook page. I will still sell them in Maasai market on Saturdays to supplement what I get from the page.

On a higher notch, my vision is to use the online shops around. They normally ask you to deliver your wares to them where they sell them on your behalf and get a commission for themselves.

I hope to get the loan applied for of USD 140.

Ps help me accomplish my dream.
