About Me

My name is Charity Jil Owusu from Mepe. My father was a hunter and my mother, a petty trader.
We were poor to the extent that, we hardly eat 3 times daily. Below are the survival formulae we had adopted to survive; it's funny but it really helped us.
1. 1 0 0 (ie: we eat only in the morning )
2. 0 0 1 (ie: we eat only in the evening ) and
3. 0 1 0 (ie: we eat only in the afternoon ).
Moreover, there was this woman in our neighborhood who was making batik tie and dye so I had approached so I can learn the job from her.
She said she doesn't have any problem so I should go and inform my parents if only they would agree. My parents gave me the go ahead and encouraged me to excel in it.
Unfortunately, my father was attacked by a lion when he went hunting in the forest; and my mother also followed due to a short illness. I have passed out successfully as a Tie & Dye Maker and took the mantle as the breadwinner of the families till now.

My Business

I am into Batik Tie & Dye making for about two years now. The Batik Tie and Dye cloth is highly patronized by a lot of people in and out Africa. Despite the demands on my goods, I don't have the needed capital to buy the materials (input) in large quantity and most of the tools and equipment needed for the job. Nonetheless, the loans I took from Zidisha on two occasion had positively changed my story.

Loan Proposal

Dear Lenders,
I wish to once again appreciate you for the support given me during my first loan application. May the good Lord bless you and always be with you.
I write to humbly seek your assistance again to raise a second loan of GHS 119.00 to buy drying lines for my business. Usually, I dry the newly produced fabrics on the ground/floor and sometimes, animals(goats and sheep) walk on them thereby destroying them. Please lenders, help me to avert this challenge.
I hope my lenders would support me to enable me save moneys I lost anytime these materials are destroyed.
Thank you.

Charity paid her loan off promptly and was a pleasure to work with. I would gladly loan to her again and encourage others to do the same.
