My name is Emelia Boamah from the Boamah Family in the Eastern Region of Ghana. I am 26 years of age. I really love doing hand made things because I really ad mire them. I admire handmade bags, shoes, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. I have four siblings of which I am the third born. After completing the senior high school I attended Caro Karl, a vocational school in the Teshie Nungua Estates for three years. I went to the vocational school because of my passion for handmade things. I learnt sewing and how to make handmade bags and earrings at the vocational school. It was really a great time. After, I went to Kumasi to study more about handmade bags and beads. I was able to do some business there and because of that I have got some clients there who occasionally demand for some of my products.
I am into the making of handmade bags, shoes, earrings, and necklaces. After completing my vocational school, I decided to further the course by acquiring more skills from Lacoste Ventures in Kumasi and also Nyaniba bags as well. After the first two years of training from Lacoste Ventures and working with them, I started buying materials and started making some bags and purses for sale at home, offices, and schools. Some of my clients bring the material pieces left after sewing their dresses so that I can coat their shoes with them and also make bags for a match. Sometimes I make these necklaces and earrings for brides and their bride maids during wedding ceremonies. Working with Lacoste Vetures has enabled me to travel to other African countries like Nigeria, Uganda, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leon on trade fair trips to make sales. I am currently working on setting myself up, that is becoming a business owner.

The demands of my personal clients have become so much that I work at night about four times a week to produce their demands. I need some equipment that will enable me work faster and that is a electric machine. I need about $182 more to purchase this. With this machine I would be able to work faster, produce on time which would make my customers fully satisfied with my work. This will also increase my client base. Thank you.
