My name is Stellah. I am a 30eight years old woman who grew up in Nakuru Pipeline estate. Life was very hard as my mother struggled to bring me and my siblings up. I was not able to go beyond secondary in my schooling as my parents could not afford fees. My husband used to own a carpentry business which did not prosper and he become jobless. Now I am left to be the breadwinner of 3 children, 2 boys and one girl. I really want my kids to do well so they do not have to struggle the way I have struggled. I am so hopeful and looking forward to the Zidisha loan. I was very excited because Zidisha has given me a chance of being supported. I love reading the Bible and going to church and always believe in Hard work
I sell drinks and food such as tea, coffee, corn meal, chapati and other African foods. I started this business about three years ago. I did so because I needed to fend for my family when my husband could no longer do his carpentry business. My biggest challenge is to get income to expand my business. I need funds to buy ingredients and equipment to prepare food. My goals is to be fully able to provide enough food to my neighbors as an efficient food kiosk, which operates as a small cafe. I am proud of my business because it literally keeps my family alive and serves people around me. My customers are my neighbors and students in a nearby school. I always make profits of between $ 30 - $40 per day. On a good month i can save upto $50 which i use to pay school fees for our children and meet other family needs.
Given the loan i will expand my Hotel due to the increased number of customers.Together with y savings i will add the following:
1. Furnitures (chairs and Tables) $80
2. Expand Hotel room $65
3. Utensils ;- $10
TOTAL $ 155
