About Me

My identify is Gideon Owusu, a younger man of 26 years old. I hail from Abuakwa. I started my primary education in 2001 at Sepaase in the Ashanti region. admission to Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) in the same year to pursue Agricultural Science and completed as one of the best students in my class. I was fortunate to practice the experience I gained from Agricultural Science at Ofinso Ahenkro in the Ashanti vicinity where I used to be working as a farm labourer in my uncle’s farm. Knowing how I struggled financially in schooling agreed to give me two-thirds of the farm produce at the end of the farming season. I labored very hard knowing I may get a lot of money at the end of the farming season to enable me further my education. To my dismay, my uncle refused to give me my portion of the produce as agreed but persuaded me to work for yet another year even although I had admission to study Agricultural Engineering in Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science And Technology (KNUST) in 2015. I agreed and worked for him from 2015 to 2016 but to my utmost dismay, he again did not give me my portion. This made me angry and I left his farm and struggled from 2016 to 2017 and made some cash to begin my university education. Due to my hardworking, I was able to start school and also establish a poultry farm of which I have been living on until now on account that I do not have any aid from anybody. Currently I’m a final year student pursuing BSc. Actuarial Science in the University Of Energy And Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani; the capital town of Bono region. It’s my innermost passion to orient communities in particular ladies and adolescence to turn out to be entrepreneurs so as to obtain financial freedom.

My Business

I'm a student and also a poultry farmer. I have been doing this work for the past three years now at Sunyani, the Bono region. I am keeping four distinct sorts of birds, they are; darkish Cornish, Island red, Croiler, Cookeries. I have about 60 birds from the listed fowl types. From the volume of birds listed, about 45 of them are layers, which provide me with about 3
crates of eggs everyday, consequently 21 crates in a week and 85 crates in a month. The profit I get from this business is partly used in increasing the enterprise and partly used in my education and other expenses. Presently there had been a high demand of the fowls product and for this reason I need assist to expand my business. My biggest goal is to expand my poultry farm to help me amass a lot of cash to orient communities in particular ladies and youth to become entrepreneurs and even assist them to establish their own individual businesses so as to eradicate poverty in the remote areas. But to reach this, I need support from the noble lenders of Zidisha to be capable to cope up with everything.

Loan Proposal

l am presently running poultry
farming. I have been doing this work for 3 years now at Sunyani in the Bono region. I have four different sorts of birds, they are darkish Cornish, island red, broiler, cookeries. I have about 150 birds from the listed fowl types. From the volume of birds listed, about a 100 of them are layer birds, which provide me about 9 to 10 crates of eggs everyday, which is 63 to 65 crates in a week and 256 to 260 crates in a month. Currently there 12 business that are facing risk in the current economic climate, these risk has to do with feeding of the birds. since poultry birds make use of the type of feeding to prouduce a high level of their products specifically layer's, it is therefore important to follow a good feeding program that will help improve the production of the farm . as I am using the best feeding program so far , I have been making a least 1000 Ghana cedis in month as a profit from the sells of eggs. I believe that with this profit I would be able to pay back the loan amount, when I have been granted the loan.
