About Me

Hildah Nankonde Naluyele is my name, born on 16 September, 1971. Happily married and a mother of two children. A Zambian citizen, living in the capital city of Zambia called Lusaka. I am the second last born in the family of nine.

As a child I enjoyed playing in the dirty, making dolls, cooking in the small tins as pots. I think that’s where I got the passion for cooking. Arguably, I am the best cook says the people who partake it.

My mother is a very strong and adorable woman who used to do different kind of jobs to put food on the table. So, I admired her different kind of skills to mention one, sewing is a motivation impacted in me by my mother. I started sewing small dresses for the dolls, making them using a hand needle. Barely 10 years old I could cut a skirt, a dress and stitch with the hand needle.
I completed my O Levels at Lusaka high school went and did my further studies in tailoring. I got my first certificate at Waddington center and I later went to St. Ambrose to get my craft certificate in cutting and designing.
Upon completing my course, I worked for Cross ills and other two companies. I left my country to look for greener pastures in a foreign country called Botswana and worked there for 12 years. Currently I am in my home country working for a Zambian defense force as a seamstress. Apart from work i have a sewing business which I have been running for more than 10 years now.

I overcame hardship throw hardworking. when things where hard for me I could bake half cakes, cook fritters to sale in order to raise money for rent and for buying food.

My husband bought my first sewing machine and I started my first business at home, until I made enough money to rent my own shop.

Zambia is blessed with vast amounts of natural resources such as minerals, wildlife, forestry, freshwater and arable land. In 2010, the World Bank named Zambia one of the world's fastest economically reformed countries. The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) is headquartered in Lusaka.

I have two children a boy and a girl, my first born son wants to be a solder and my little girl wants to be a doctor though she is also a very good seamstress.

I love cooking, listen to music and watching movies with my family.

My Business

I make cloths for wedding line up, traditional outfits, bridle cloths and I even prepare the food for the parties.
Like I said earlier, my land is very rich in culture so, their main celebrations that take place. So, my services are forever booming in a sense that, people are always making kitchen parties and weddings. So, weather they like or not my services are always need.

Why this kind of business, because in my country they like wearing traditional outfits on their every special occasions. And this business is my life, I enjoy doing this business and still have so much to offer.

I rent a shop in my home town which i usually pay monthly, also pay for my electricity bills cause my sewing machines uses electricity and i paying taxes.

I use my profit to help my husband with rentals, school fees for my children, supporting my mother and for medical emergencies and I will use the profits to repay my loan so as to be able to qualify for a high amount

Loan Proposal

I am planning on increasing on the materials such as Fabrics, threads and elastics. If i invest in K500 to buying the needed materials, i will make about 450 face-masks and sale them at K5 each. I am expecting my profit to grow by K300 to K400.

This will benefit me in main ways to explain, I am not working this week. that means more time for me to do my home business. i will buy the needed materials with the money i will be given, make face-masks, sale them and make profit.

With the last loan you gave me, i bought the fabrics, threads, sewing needles and elastics which i used to make masks. well, even this time i will use the loan you will give me to increase on the materials so that i can make more profit.

Income Source

I am a business woman, i look for business opportunity even in the worse situations. Well for now, making face-masks is the most assuredly business one can do here and with no doubt to succeed in. moreover, masks are being worn by everyone in the country whenever they are out doors, weddings, funerals and churches. like everyone else, Zambia has also been hit by Corona virus 19. but, the government has assuredly said they are not going to lock-down the country. Plus I work for a Zambian defense force as seamstress so, my salary is enough to pay for my loan next week

Hildah was delightful to work with and she fully paid her loan on time and I would lend to her again if she wanted to expand further.
