my name is Susan Nafula, I the second born in a family of five children two girls and three boys. I went to Sigombe primary schoo which was 2KM fro home and I walked to school every day. I then joined shikoti girls secondary school for my secondary education. I did not complete secondary school due to lack of fees. I dropped from Shikoti girls at form three and these was my lowest moment in life. i watched other peers go to school and I could cry the whole day. My hope were raised one day when my village elder visited our home and announced that an NGO was looking for young girls to give vocational training .I knew these was a good opportunity for, and appiled. I was so have when my application was successful and joined Kisumu polytechnic for a course in hair dressing and beauty . After completing the course I worked in Ashley Kisumu which is an high end saloon. I met different people who inspired me to have my own saloon . my challenge for starting a business was capital.
After 5 months of hard work,I managed to save $300 that I used to buy equipments and to start my own business. I worked from my single rented room for a while before renting my own small shop.
I have one child called meshack. He wants to be an engineer when he grows up.
I love listening to music, watching soaps, dancing and meeting new people. Welcome to my saloon when you visit Kenya for the best treatment and services.
I am a beautician and own a salon that provides hair dressing, manicure, pedicure and face scrubbing . The services are useful and on demand because most ladies want to look good through makes up and the form my clientele base.
I choose the business because I loved the beauty industry ,the business is also very good and profitable.
I use $120 in a month to pay rent, electricity and water . My montly income per month is average $300. I use the money to pay fees for my child and siblings, buy more equipments for the saloon and support my parents.
I thank you for you kind heart, I am requesting for $125 loan to help me buy a fan for air conditioning in my small saloon to protect my clients against extreme weathers so that the can be comfortable always. During Hot days clients are always uncomfortable and these has made some to leave. The fan which will cost the business $80 will help me retain my clients and earn more from the business.Thank you in advance.
