About Me

my names are Henry Opondo. I am the first boarn in a familly of 6. Both my parents passed on while I was in primary school and from there hence forth I took parenting role since i was the oldest. with support from the local church and relatives ,i was able to complete my primary education at Sigalame primary school and proceeded to Sigalame secondary school where I completed my secondary education. I passed well by then the sponsor could not continue sponsoring me because they had no post secondary scholarship. The future looked bleak, I knew I had to support my five siblings in any way I could.
After tarmacking for a few months with nothing forthcoming since most employees wanted people with post secondary education which i dint have,i knew employment was not the way .I had to employee myself. But how?? I approached a neighbor armed with business idea which was farming and asked him for $50 loan to buy seeds and manure. I was to do the tilling myself with assistance from my siblings.he gave me the loan. I bought kale's and capsicum seeds. I had never grown these crops before but i just went to a farmer in the neighborhood who agreed to support me. I planted my crops,it happened there was drought and since my farm was near water source,i made good sales ,since then farming is my official employer.
i come from the luo community in western kenya,we are rich in culture including traditional dance, traditional food which is fish and many more, welcome to our land.
I love singing and dancing. during my free time I join other villegers in my youth group to sing and dance.

My Business

I am a commercial farmer growing vegetables. my main clients are schools, hospital and local community.
Vegetables are very important in the community since it is use as food and is affordable to many.
I choose these business because it was the most profitable business at that time.I had no alternative but i really enjoy farming today.
I spend $150 in a month and my revenues in a month is average $350. I make a profit of average $200 a month.
i use 50% of my profits to educate my siblings and for our living expenses. I use the rest to save and improve the business.

Loan Proposal

Thank you dear lenders for helping raise my loans always on time. The loans have played a very vital role in my life and has helped me change my life. I am requesting for $400 loan that would help me to expand my farm my 3/4 acres.I would use the money to lease land for a year at cost of $150,prepare the land at $50 and buy seeds and organic fertilizer @ $ 200. I expect the new business line to increase my income by 100%. Thank you in advance.
