My name is Tonny Lukalo. I live in Uasin Gishu County Annex Estate. I come from a family of 12 children. I am the 1st born in our family. I am a Christian with Living Rock church. I went to Cheplaskei High School and now am working in my farm as a farmer with my wife. I have attended Bukura training institute which has horticultural courses and later went to Naivasha which has a veterinary. This has helped me to have an idea of farming. But due to lack of finances, I was not able to grow from what little I have. Where I stay, people think that farming is meant for old or retired ones and you can't get money for the whole family but for me it has really helped me feed and keep my children in school. One of my children wants to be a vet doctor.
As a farmer, I have been involved in this field for 2 years and am planting vegetables and tomatoes, onions, etc. In our area, many schools and families need these items and they are using them a lot. I chose this kind of business because of high demand on the ground and in the community around us. It is also my passion to plant and sell for money so my family can have something to put on the table and to take them to school.
I will buy fertilizer one bag of DAP at 37 U.S. dollars and ane bag of CAN at 37 U.S. dollars I will also buy two jembes at 9 U.S. dollars I will hire one person to help in weeding at cost of 21 U.S. dollars.
And 90 U.S. dollars to pay a half of my son's school fees .
This will help in my community by providing fresh vegetables and employment once in while for one person also making sure that a half of food on the table should be vegetables hence giving my family a healthy and balance diet.
It wil help my agribusiness by increasing in profit by 20% to a health and happy family thanks zidisha.
