About Me

Am from a family of two and am the last born.Am also a student at the university of Nairobi but that does not keep me from my passion that is farming.I started farming in 2003 that's a strong eleven years and going strong.Stared out with two rabbits whose number grew very fast hence I had to look for a stable and reliable source of food for them.Carrots were the definite choice so I got the money from my mother.After the four months I got a very high yield which enabled me to feed my rabbits and sell the surplus which was enough to buy me my first bicycle.From there the rest is history.If i could get that much from carrot what about other crops?was the question lingering in my mind.As time has gone by i have focused on tomatoes,cabbage and capsicum.

My Business

My business is agribusiness where I have specialized on capsicum, cabbages and tomatoes.Farming is all about the more the input the higher the yield hence a larger income.My incurred cost are:

Transport -$40.10
Net sales -$550.07
Water and transport are the main challenges.Water is a challenge since it s available but watering the plants is using a watering can is quite tiresome,hence use a lot of labour.Transport is an issue since i do not own my own means of transport hence i have to settle for public means which are expensive.

Loan Proposal

Having been a beneficially of a zidisha loan I wish to apply for another one in order to be able to purchase a new drip system for my open field capsicum crops.

.Having enjoyed the benefits of the drip system in the green house I know it will also be beneficial to my open field capsicum and cabbages .This will increase my net sales from $738.07 to $850.24.The loan will be very helpful.
