About Me

My names are Geofrey Kabugi Mwangi born in the year 1972, in Kinangop, Nyandarua County of the central Province in Kenya. I went through my early Primary education in Kinangop then joined Secondary school for my KCSE. After my KCSE, I joined Kenyatta University where I enrolled for a degree course in teaching. I am married with three children.

My Business

Currently, am working as a teacher in a public Secondary school, besides working as a teacher, at Muruaki secondary School, I am a farmer specializing in cash crop and dairy farming in Kinangop. I grow wide range of cash crops like potatoes, peas, carrots and cabbages. I am also a member of Tulaga farmers SACCO where we sell our milk and get paid at the end of the month.
Collections or income per month range from Ksh. 12000 to ksh 18,000 per month. This after deducting the expenses amount to sh 6000 per month as net income the amount that I add to my salary at my work place for family upkeep and paying school fees for my first born child who schools at Kabare girls High School
I intend to borrow zidisha loan so as to increase my farming activities with the help of my wife who is a house wife. With this Zidisha loan, I will be able to boost planting by planting in a land that is currently sitting idle. I live just some few meter from a source of water that is Turasha river which though seasonal, I will take advantage and water my crops during the coming dry spell. This will put me in advantage as I will not rely mostly on weather that is unpredictable. I want also to plant more feeder crops for my cows so as to boost milk production. From my work place I have net income of ksh 20,000 and will keep part of my personal savings to go towards this project. During holiday season, I am usually out of school and I don’t work during the holidays so I will be in a position to concentrate with my farming activity. I also don’t work during weekends. i.e Saturdays therefore I will be having at least a day in a week to concentrate on my project. With the help of my wife I will able to increase my farming activity. I do also have plans to purchase a simple water pump that will enable me do some irrigation to my crops particularly vegetables and cabbages which have ready market due to their ever increasing demand. When prices go down I will be using them as fees for my cattle and this will increase milk production.

Loan Proposal

Thank you lenders for the 2nd loan that I have just completed, I again intend to borrow zidisha loan so as to do cash crop farming, I will be able to boost planting by planting in my land. Kinangop is a place that does well ocassionaly in both dairy and cash crop farming particularly potatoes, peas, cabbages among others, the reason why I still wish to plant more feeder crops for my cows so as to boost milk production.
