My name is Festus Kipkurui Bii and currently 29 years old. I am married to Joyce and blessed with one son Ryan. We reside in Kiamunyi- in the outskirts of Nakuru town.
Professionally, I am an accountant- studied Certified Public Accounts (CPA) at Kenya College of Accountancy and currently working with Savemore distributors in Nakuru town as a junior accountant.
To supplement my income, I also do farming in our family land at Kabarak area where I plant mainly vegetables and other early maturing crops.
My hobbies are visiting friends and watching movies.
I have a farm in Kabarak area in Gogo village- few kilometers from Kabarak main university. I plant mostly vegetables and beans which are early maturing. I am very passionate with farming and the farm has helped sustain us even before I got a job. Now I want to improve its productivity by employing every useful agribusiness skills.
My main customers are the locals and a few grocery owners in Nakuru town. My wife helps to foresee the farm while I only visit the farm when I am free.
Farming has been very important for my family. Both as source of food and income. Right now I would like to plant cabbages and kales for sale during the dry season between February and May when the prices are good.
Therefore, I will use the $100 loan to buy seedlings and fertilizer for planting before the end of the short rains.
Purchasing ready seedlings will save on time and cost. Meanwhile I will use the small revenue from the current sales to repay the loan.
