About Me

Phil Chilombo is my name.
I am Telecom Engineer by profession and I have started farming 7 years ago. I am based in Lusaka, Zambia. I do farm vegetables, rabbits and village chickens, pekin ducks, fodder plants for livestock.

My Business

My is business is called Backyard Smart Farms.
We farm vegetables, village chickens, rabbits and produce seedlings for vegetables and livestock fodder plants.
We do plant and supply fodder plants for goats, sheeps, cattle, rabbits and poultry. We have assisted so many farmers in rural areas of Zambia to setup grazing areas for livestock at very low cost.

Loan Proposal

I plan to continue planting fodder plants (Moringa, Leucaena, Mulberry, Acacia and Bamboo) to farmers and urban rural areas of Zambia. We encourage farmers to plant trees as animal feed and reduce the expense on commercial feed. With the amount to be loaned, I will buy 1,200 seedlings polythene bags to plant cuttings and seeds.
