About Me

I am Margret waithira, I live in Kapsoya estate located in Eldoret which is in the rift valley province under Uasin Gishu county.
After giving birth to my third child I had postpartum complications that lead to me not attending to my job for longer period and since it was a personal company they had to lay me off.

I spent most of my savings on medication because at this time my husband was not stable financially and he was struggling to start his business, I always asked God to give me strength so that I can at least one day recover and see my children through their education.

After several months in and out of hospital I fully recovered and this is when I noticed I don't want to get employed anymore, I opted for business and dint know what business to start but with the little money left I knew it was time to do something productive that will not only generate revenue but also supports the community.

I run a business selling food and house holds, I have been in this business for two years now.
I have three children two boys and a young girl whom is at lower primary school.
My dreams is to support my children to see them achieve a career of their suit.

I have also taken it upon myself to do monthly volunteering projects that motivates other women in my community by visiting new mothers who have given birth to show them love and support them with food stuffs, baby towels, diapers and even small money. Me being the chair and member of our community group I have seen lots of young girls recovering well after giving birth and feeling happy and courageous.

My Business

My business is a shop where I retail consumables food stuffs to people in my community.
I provide sugar, bread, rice, salt, milk, cooking fat and etc. soon I will start a bakery where I will be selling ready made cakes, muffins and bread this will allow me reduce prices as a way to benefit people in my community.

Project Proposal

I appreciate the support you have given, so far so good my business is improving and am even planing on buying more items which customers are asking for.
