I was born and raised in kangemi slum, i have 4 sisters and one younger brother, my primary school years i attended a public school in kangemi and a high school right here as well, i am a father of one daughter, i am also involved in community work where i volunteer in clean ups of the market where i retail my product when the city council fails to collect the garbage its up to me to organize my fellow business people to do the clean up, i am also involved in voluntary civic education to talk to youths to refrain from using drugs, alcohol on Sundays after church i spend time withe youth.
My business is a kiosk situated in at kangemi market i retail fruits, fruit salad and juice, in Kenya or Nairobi its ever sunny almost through out the year, so watermelons are my everyday sale, i also do a mix of a fresh tasty fruit salad, fresh squeeze of juice made right here in my kiosks and served to the customers as they wait and we also have take aways,my products are in demand because people work in the hot sun and they need something to sweet and refreshing, i got into this business through my mother who is a member of farmers who grow vegetables and fruits for sale i decided to sale, my mother's group supply me and many other retailers.My profits they go back into the business restocking and now i have a daughter i am saving towards her education, i pay my rent, food and other things in my life come from this business.
With the loan i will use 3500 ksh to order 50kgs of water melons, 2500ksh i will use to order mangoes 3 sacks, 1000 kshs i will buy reusable plastic plates for the salads, 1000kshs will used to buy the reusable plastic glasses for the juice, given the loan i expect an increase of profits on a daily basis a minimum of 200 kshs , i know i will benefit to be able to save school fees for my daughters education when she starts education,
