About Me

I was brought up by a single mother. went to school through alot of hardship but managed to perform very well in Primary and secondary school. unfortunately i was not able to continue and from there i have been doing small businesses here and there. I am a single mother of one baby girl who is 6yrs old and i have also hosted an orphan who is 9yrs old. I have been providing for them single handedly till now. when she grows up she would love to be a lawyer.
I am a kikuyu and in our culture we are business oriented and do very well in business.
during my part time I teach peer education amongst young people in my area. i love community work and helping out in any way whenever I can.

My Business

I am involved in fruits business at the Nairobi CBD. I make fruit salad, park them in plastic contains with a folk attached to each,at home in Dagoretti and then deliver them to offices and stall in the city centre.I have been doing the fruit salad business for an year now and its picking up so well.I started with fruits worth $50 and utensils worth $10. I have been buying five kinds of fruit; water melon, mango, pineapple, bananas and ovacado, each each bag at $10. the fruits go for two days because of lack of a better way to carry them from home to the city centre. Therefore $25 is spent daily as capital, and gives me back $8 profit.I also have expenses to deduct, like transport. I use my profits to pay rent, school fees for my daughter and an orphan am hosting. I also buy food with the same money.I would wish to expand my business because the market is really large...I found out most people in offices in town are trying to diet so they can keep fit or loose some weight, and fruits is all they need. unfortunately its challenging for me to carry lots of those packs in public transport. that would call for me to either increase production and get a taxi to be carrying for me, or get a small space in town to make my fruits from. Increasing my capital by $150 and make all the fruits in a day, would give me a profit of $48 daily, which would cater for transportation for a month before I get a small kitchen in town. To ensure all that fruit salad is sold out, i would look for orders a day before and make sure i get as much orders as i need...

Loan Proposal

I will add some more stock for my business as my customer base is expanding. That will only cost me 3,000 KES, then I also intend to expand to a bigger place somy customers can have enough space to to seat as they eat their fruit salad and drink the juice. The rent to the place I have found is 5,000 exceeding my current rent .
The place will accommodate 10more customers per 30min of eating which each customer spends 50KES. Since I work for 8hrs a day, that means 16sittings a day plus 50KES adding up to 800KES extra a day. That will cater for the weekly loan payment and monthly rent payment and still leave me a substantial amt of profit a month. Looking forward to the approval of the loan. Thank you

Wambui had a misunderstanding about Zidisha so when she got the loan n it was deducted to the loan fund in her account she wasn't able to pay while she didnt have any capital for her business,i ask kindly can her money at her account be removed n get back to leaders coz she's not willing to pay what she didn't get.

I am still wondering if I should repay 9356KES n I only received 849KES. That might cause my business to collapse and its the only thing I rely on

I have received my third loan today, and I am grateful, but unfortunately I have received 849KES, instead of 8,914KES. I do not know how I shall manage to raise the full amt.

I am so happy for finishing to pay my second loan though not on time as I had wished. Last week and this week have been the best days of my yr. I found an Australian 2nd hand clothes bales distributor who lent me a bra bales which I have already paid it off n made my profit. Now I need approximately USD 150 to add to what I have and get another bale. Hope Zidisha will help me on my 3rd loan. Thanks so much for the far we have come together

I am very excited to let you know that a friend sold me her business in Nairobi town and asked me to pay her Kshs. 5,000 per month for a period of 3months. She got a job n didn't want to close her business. She sells bras and they are fast moving in that area. I have taken over the business today and have employed someone for my fruit salad business. Here is a pic of myself and my new business.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the lenders for fully funding my loan. I received 9,814 today and was very appreciative. I immediately purchased more fruits for my business, though I couldn't get the other space I had planned to take as it had already been taken by someone else. I am very glad n will do my best to repay the loan on time. Thank you again
