About Me

My name is Fridah Momanyi. I reside in Nairobi, Kenya. I just started an informal mitumba business at Githurai 44 to provide for my two sons [5 years and 1 year] day-to-day needs. I have wanted to get into business for a long time but I couldn't due to a lack of capital. Finally, 2 weeks ago I made the decision to start small since if I didn't take the risk then soon or later my family was going to sleep hungry.

My Business

My business is located at Githurai 44, Nairobi, which is a large residential and business estate. I want to sell Mitumba baby clothing example tights, dresses, t-shirts, sweaters, newborn clothes, etc, and ladies' innerwear. namely- Bras, sports bras, shapewear, pants, corsets, bralettes, etc.

I choose this kind of business since the many people around are always in need of baby clothes and ladies' wear. I have rented a small stall from where I will display and sell my products from. This is usually in the afternoons when people are going back to their houses or moving from their business/work. In the mornings, I will deliver supplies to my online customers.

Sourcing for capital to purchase more clothes is now a major problem, especially for 'small' people like me without securities for loans. Luckily, I came across Zidisha Inc through google search and I'm hopeful it will be my breakthrough.

If you kindly allow me to have this loan, I will manage to enlarge my business by increasing the stock and I will have more to offer to my clients.
