Am Innocent Otwani and am from Amaase in Busia County, I did my KCPE in Amaase Primary School and went to St.Peter’s Aterait Secondary School in the years 2009. I dropped out in form three due to fees problem in 2011. I moved to Nairobi where I was employed as a security guard. The money I saved for eight months I went to train as a Deejay my dream career. After I was done with the course, I had nothing to do for to continue with deejaying needs a lot of money to buy the full system. I joined to Le Communication Centre and di computer application packages because it was cheap and deejaying also needs computer knowledge. I got employed as a customer attendant at Rens Computer Centre located in 56 bus terminuses from Rail ways Bus station. Because of the experience I had within eight months as a customer attendant, I decided to open my own business that Photocopying, Printing, Lamination and Internet browsing being the main services I offer because of the demand full customer available in the region.
My business provides printing, photocopying, scanning and internet browsing as the main services where my daily regular source of income comes from. I started it with the aim to satisfy people’s needs in the region where job applications are done online so scanning is needed, photocopying of documents as some people move office to office looking for a job so they have to photocopy their certificates. Doing all these and other services promotes the business and helps to generate more income. I want also to increase computers in my business so as to maintain my customers and this helps to generate more profit income in the business. Though there are some difficulties that try to bring the business down, such as paying government revenue which is cost full worth USD 300 in a year, high electricity bill worth USD 60 in a month and rent which is worth USD60 in a month. Within the region there are some business that offer the same services, this being another tragedy in running this business, I always overcome it by offering discounts of 0.05% of the total expenditure to my potential customers, giving credits to the potential customers and they pay later according to agreed time, because of this also helps for they never fail to pay hence it helps to retain my customers and also they do introduce their friends, relatives and workmates to my business as a result of good relationship hence this results to profitable business with the services I offer. Though the business is small but I do struggle and settle the debts and indeed I end up saving a small amount of the entire income. Though some amount I do spend by helping other people such as paying school fees to my younger siblings who are still in school. The business brings in a reasonable income and due to potential customers that I have, they make me know what has to be done so as to make the business profitable and helpful in the society and the entire community as well as my basic needs are considered in. Also looking at other services such as binding can help boost the business as compared without, to add computer which are of high speed so as to satisfy customers who use internet needs and this will bring more customers to the business and the results will be determined with the income generate as compared to previous. Also there will be a will to provide computer accessories. and the same amount will be used to pay the loan back.
When I get this loan, I'll be able to buy three more complete computers for my business. This will help my business income raise. The computers I have are few(Four client computers) and one server. Buying three more computers will help me serve all customers and it will also help to avoid congestion and Idling where customers are forced to wait till they get free machine.
One complete computers costs $139. All three computers will cost $417.
Though I will be having a deficit of $45, I will have to add some amount from my business saving so I can be able to get the machines and doing this will improve my business income raise alot.
