About Me

My name is John Ongai Ombima, a young ambitious man. I am married with two children ages 8 & 4 years old. I was born and brought up in the rural town of Kakamega, in the western province of Kenya. Life was so difficult for us and what was earned couldn't sustain the family. Due to this kind of life, our parents taught us to do anything with our hands in order to earn a living by merit, so we used to work extremely hard and that resulted in my being responsible, not choosy, and self-reliant at a tender age. I also developed a friendly character, which gave me favour with most of the people in our village. I was among the first boys in the village to be considered for jobs. I still embrace the same spirit and I am very social and cooperative.

My Business

In 2008, I moved to Nairobi through my cousin, who used to come to the village occasionally and saw how ambitious and zealous I was in whatever thing I did, no matter how small it seemed. I stayed with him for six months, and during this time I worked as a handyman under masons in the neighbourhood in the city.

I wanted to be independent, so I moved from his house to the outskirts of the city, and fortunately I saw an opportunity that looked fairer than the job that I was doing. The place that I moved to was so remote and had challenges with water and electricity.

With the little money I had, I bought a bicycle and began selling drinking water to my neighbors. It was in 2010 that the demand rapidly increased, and I started saving little by little to buy a donkey. It took me time to raise the cash, but I managed. I also bought a cart and it made my work a little more manageable. I urgently need another donkey and cart to boost my business and at least create employment for someone else.

Dear lenders, I spoke to John today and he told me that his donkeys were stolen and he has found it difficult to service the loan since this was his only form of earning. He however promised to reschedule this loan and start paying small amounts as from next week.

i wish to apply for another loan offer after i have successfully paid the previous loan. the reason for application is that, due to the increased demand for my services as a water vendor on the outskirts of nairobi city, the challenge of a quick, better and reliable means of transport still remains. i struggle alot to meet the demand because the cart and the donkeys i use are slow thus causing snull-ups meeting demands or even forwarding the orders till the next day. it really weighs me down and leaves me tired and unfulfilled.
am seriously in need of a better means of transport and i beleive zidisha has the solution for this .please consider my kind request thanks.
