My Business

have a tailoring shop that is the source of my daily bread. I manage to make new cloths and sell them, and at the same place sell ready made cloths as well as materials for making new ones.

In a day I make one new suit, some few repairs, selling materials and ready made cloths.
The cost of making a suit is 950. In a single suit I make profit of Ksh 275, Repairs is Ksh 75, Plain materials (vitenge) Ksh 300 and ready made cloths Ksh 150.

I my whole-sum Profit of a day, I accumulate Ksh 800. Out off Ksh 800, Ksh 300 we use it as my family expenses and we save the rest Ksh 500. Total profit of the month is Ksh 12,000 – Ksh 15,000. From the sum profit, we pay Ksh 1500 for house rent monthly. County Council Permit/License payment of Ksh 1620 annually. So in a month Ksh 135.

My room is large enough where I am intending to expand my business of selling more plain materials (Vitenge) as they are on high demand. If I will be in a position to get more funds from you, I hope, I will be able to purchase 15 material extra at a cost of Ksh 1100 each which will sum to Ksh 15,500 and after selling them in two weeks time I will have made a profit of Ksh 4,500, so in a month Ksh 9,000.

Loan Proposal

Hello all Zidisha members. I am greatfull to Zidisha leaders for they have assisted a lot to improve economic status of most people. I am thankful for the loan you had lended me. My business is doing well and now is bigger than before and out of it, am able to do barter trade, where I give out clothes for maize or beans and then market them; where I get double profit, that is, from clothes and cereals after selling them. However, I managed to open a cereals store out of the loan you lended me and employed somebody who buys the cereals and after I market them. Furthermore, my family’s living standard is atleast good. Thanks again.

How I wish to expand that cereals store so that I can make more profit because I have a plan of buying a plot. So I kindly request for another loan from you of Kshs. 40000/= where I will pay it back in 1 ½ yr and grace period of 3 months.

Thanks in advance as you consider my request.

Kind regards,

Francis Mungai Nginya
