About Me

Am Lilian Nzingo Thuva born in 1986, in family of six children and am the first born in my family. Am a resident and a businesslady in mtwapa as well. I went Mtwapa primary school in 1991 and completed my primary school in 1998. I later went to Ngala girls secondary school in 1999 and finshed my secondary school in 2003. After my secondary school, i came back home after failing to get enough funds to join the university. So i decided to venture into business world, my first business was a local restaurant, i practiced this business at home, this business and it started well only at that time i did not have enough capital so it was just a small business.Since i did it at home, i could save as much because i did not have to pay rent. With the savings i managed to open a boutique. This has been a good alternative for my financial status. this is a good business because i get a monthly income of ksh 25,000 per month. With this amount i buy food for my family and also the other family needs.

My Business

I have a boutique in the heart of the town. I started this business four years ago and am glad its been doing well.Mtwapa is a very fast growing town in the coastal strip of Kenya. We have a combination of different communities of different ethic groups. With the high population in this town business has been doing good Many of my customers are all ladies which are very much concerned about beauty. As my business is concerned, i have ready customers as the demand of cosmetic products and beauty is high.I get my products form the wholesales in town, and dealers of beauty and cosmetics . This is a good business as i make a monthly income of ksh 25,000 per month. Risks in my business include flactuation in prices of materials hence reducing profits. With what i get in my income i use ksh 2,000 paying my house rent, kah 4,000 paying rent at the boutique, ksh 5,000 is used for family food, so i save ksh 14,000 per month which i can easily repay my zidisha loan. My main objective is to expand my business and gain more profit so as to free my self and my family from poverty
