My Business

I am a motorcycle taxi driver - in my country the motorcycle is called boda boda. there are also car taxis, called matutus.
We transport not only persons, but also small goods. The request for boda boda are much higher than for matutus, as a boda boda is faster, cheaper, and can go where roads are badly build.
I started out as a bicycle taxi driver, but as it is very tiring and it needed a lot of energy. So first I lent a boda boda, whenever I had a transport of a person or a good to deliver. With my first Zidisha loan I finally bought my own boda boda, and now, since I am a hard working man, I earn enough to mantain my family and help paying the school fees for my late sisters children.
my monthly typical cost is Kshs 5000/= this is daily refueling and maintenance of the bike while my monthly sales revenue amounts to Kshs 30,000/= when the business is doing well and when things aren't well and the business is low my sales revenue amounts to Kshs 21,000/=
this makes me get a profit of kshs 25,000/= when the business is doing well and when it isn't doing well i get a profit of Kshs 19,000/=
boda boda business is a very good business in kenya to any new person who wants to get into business it can make one earn money and be able to expand other business and improve ones life,

Loan Proposal

I'm a boda boda driver, which is a motorcycle taxi driver, who transports persons and small goods. With my first loan from Zidisha, for with I thank you all, I was able to buy my own motorcycle. God bless you!
Since the request is high, I would like to use this second loan to buy a second motorcycle. I will lend the existing motorcycle to another rider and ride the new one myself. This will help earn more money - me and the new driver!
Once again thank you for the good help you are giving us!

my business earns me enough money to run my daily life with what i earn i am able to feed my family daily and obtain their daily needs i am able to send my late sisters children to school as we all know education is very important,i have been able to open a small business for my wife and teach her about business,i am able to maintain my motor bike daily by refilling and maintenance, still i am able to save some money for my future, i am a hard working man
my business includes driving of a boda boda thats how its commonly known in Kenya boda boda is the driving of a motor bike my business started some years ago when i thought it was going to make me earn some money,i first started boda boda business but with a different means that is driving of a bicycle i provide means of transport to the locals but as time went by the introduction of the motor bikes came and i decided to change to motor because riding a bicycle wasnt easy and it was tiring and it needed alot of energy to deliver services thats why ii changed to this modern means of transport due to its opposite deliverance to the bicycle means. my business is a form of transport which is commonly used in our country which was introduced in here from our neighbouring county .in my business i offer services that is buy transporting items or people transporting of less bulky items that can be carried without any problem its a very simple way of transport.transport is a daily issue to everyone and without transport less things can be obtained and by providing this services i am entitled to get a jackpot the services i provide are high on demand because of 1. its a cheap way of transport 2. its readily available at anytime of the day 3.its a faster means of transport than the usual matatu means 4. with boda boda you can go or transport things at interior places where roads are badly build because boda boda use a very slim space to pass not like matatus,
most of people in my araea prefer this means of transport mostly mine because they know with me they will arrive safetly.i am a carefull driver and drives with decency, there are other means which are much cheaper the boda boda but people prefer this because of one major difference and that is speed,
the business is profitable because its like the most valuable business around considering that most people prefer it like transporting people from home to theor work places or carring people who cant walk to such long distances its profitable because i am able to cater all my family needs daily.
in every business their are risks and in my business risks are also thier the most risks are insecurity, robbery, accidents sometimes you can transport a customer not knowing that you are carrying a thief and on reaching a unfamiliar place you get robbed and even injured and sometimes to the extend of loosing the motor bike.another is fuel price rises and makes it hard to get this important commodity and we know with out fuel i have no job
my monthly typical cost is Kshs 5000/= this is daily refueling and maintenance of the bike while my monthly sales revenue amounts to Kshs 30,000/= when the business is doing well and when things aren't well and the business is low my sales revenue amounts to Kshs 21,000/=

Hello my dear lenders, am so sorry for the inconvenience i may have caused so far. As i have earlier stated i lost my new motor cycle after i hired to somebody and never came back and neither heard anything of his whereabouts.Due to this confusion i will not be able to send my payments, until i resume to my business. so i would request some time to sort my business out. Thank you so much for the patience you had to me and you please continue to wait as i sort out the issue. God bless you all

Hello my dear lenders and the entire zidisha community. First i would like to take this chance to thank your efforts in helping people with their businesses. With me i managed to buy a brand new motor cycle and repaired my old motor cycle using the loan i got from you. I have been doing fine all along since i got the loan. On 10th last month i hired the new motor cycle to somebody i have known for a very long time, ever since that day till now he has never returned nor hear his whereabouts. The matter is with the police for investigation. I have been trying my best to send in my payments but things are not in my side for now. Please be patient in this difficult time. God bless you all.

    Hello Mr Kabani,
I'm happy to hear that your received your loan.
Let us know when you buy your new motorcycle -- and pictures would be nice!
Then you will have two motorcycles for earning power. Good.

I ride motorcycles also, but only for my own transportation and riding for pleasure. A good friend of mine introduced me to riding 15 years ago. He was right when he told me, "It's the closest thing to flying!"

    Be safe and happy.
