my name is Ethel Sifuma.I am a 32 years old lady. i hold a higher national diploma in human resource management. i live in kisumu town migosi estate where i run a hair and beauty salon. i ventured into the business six months ago after a long time of searching for a job with no success. hair and beauty has always been my passion. i started practising hair plaiting since i was a young girl and as years passed by i had mastered the skill. after completing my o level i was employed in a salon where i learned everything on salon and beauty. i later joined college and after job searching with no success i decided to put my skill to use so as to earn a living. with the little i earn from my simple salon
my business is based in the estate where i live in kisumu. i get most of my clients towards the end of the week, that is from thursday through sunday. the other days are not as busy compared to the rest.
i have a challenge of a hair drier which i normally hire on the four busy days thursday-sunday. i pay 4dollars per day for the drier, which normally has a high demand. i would like to acquire a hair drier which costs116dollars so as to be more effective to my clients and save the 14dollars i use for hiring the drier.
the business is picking on well. on the four busy days i make atleast 9dollars each day. i pay 35 dollars for the premise and electricity bill of 12 dollars per month.
given the loan i would be able to buy a hair drier and save on the 14 dollars i use for hiring every week, which instead i will use to repay the loan then have my permanent drier thus improved services.
