About Me

My name is Truphena Kiso, from Busia county. I am a single mother of two children . My husband passed away three years ago from cerebral malaria. I went to Burumba Primary school, and later joined our lady of mercy girls, I dropped out at form three level because of lack of school fees.
After the sudden death of my husband,life become unbearable. I did not have any source of income. I had two kids to feed and take care of. I did not give up,I joined umoja youth group for widows and we were trained on various good agronomic practices. with an idle land back at home i went straight to action. I cultivated a quarter acre of land and planted vegetables,I sold the at very good prices and new that I was in business.
I have two children who I love so much, they want to be teachers when they grow up.
My hobbies include dancing ,singing and looking after my vegetables which I am always passionate about.

My Business

My goods include traditional leafy African vegetables ,e.g cow pea,amaranth, osuga and exotics like cabbages.
The demand for this goods are high because i live near town.With the high population in the nearby Busia town ,market for my goods is always guaranteed . I always do my best to supply on time so as not to disappoint my clients,
Greens are always important in meals and so that explains why my goods are always important,for the community always uses them on daily basis.
In a good month I spend $80 on seeds and farm hand who helps me in tilling the land. My revenues are $250 in a good month.
Since I am sole bread winner for my family , I use the money for the general expenses and paying school fees for my two children.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders ,I am requesting for finances to help me lease a land for two seasons to plant maize and tomato ,these coming season starting march. I will use $100 for leasing land . $100 for land preparation and $60 for seeds . I have made savings for manure . I would really appreciate your help so that I can embark on land preparation early.
