About Me

My name is Rukia Buku, I live in Mtwapa Town. I am married with one kid. The child is in school in standard 1 at St. Bright Academy.
My business is Charcoal Seller where I buy Charcoal and sell it to the people of Mtwapa.
I started the business because I came to realise that most people in Mtwapa do use the product oftenly and the product was in high demand. As to my educational background is that I didn't go to School. The earnings I earn, I do use it to cater for my family basic needs like buying food, clothing, housing, medical care and paying for school fees. Then I also use the earnings to increase my stock. Then am also planning to help the society at large by educating them on the importance of starting their businesses and become self employed, with Zidisha being the helping hand.

My Business

My business deals with charcoal, that is am a charcoal seller. Most people in the area cant afford to buy the gas cookers, electric cookers because they are expensive so the option they choose is to use the jikos which use charcoal. The demand is high because the other sources of energy are expensive. The competition is high but to me its fair because am very advantageous with the good relationship i have with the people of Mtwapa and the quality of the goods and services I do offer them. The business is very profitable. The risks are the government policies
are very tough and the license charge is high.
My monthly costs ksh.84000/=
My monthly sales ksh.140000/=
My monthly profits. ksh.46000/=.

Loan Proposal

Hi lenders, when granted this loan my plan is to increase my stocke of charcoal in my charcoal vendor banda by buying 40 sacks or bags of charcoals from the manufactures i mean from the bush and transport them into my vendor or banda.because one sack of charcool is 300 when buying from the manufactures.so with 40 sacks i will use ksh 12,000 to buy them and use the rest ksh 8,000 for transport. this will boost my business more and more as of now my suplus is very high but i have a demand around and within my area which means i sell my normal stalk that i usually take and its only take some few days they are all gone.so by using this loan to buy more stock this will able be to have enough stock also enable me to make more profit through this.
