About Me

My names are Sylvia Macharia,i am the first born in a family of four.
I was raised up by a single mother after my father passed on when i was ten yrs of age.
I was an average student through school .

My mother was a house wife and she took over as the sole bread winner,it was not easy to take us through school life.
We have a farm where we used to plant beans, onions and wheat and supplied them to local schools which assisted me with paying the school fees.

After my high school, i lacked money to take me to college so i started poultry farming and rearing dairy cows with the help of my mother.i could supply eggs to some shops around and take the milk to co operative society within our village.
I joined college after a period of two years since i had to give the rest of the siblings a chance also to parsue through their education.
I used to stay at my aunts home in nairobi and after classes i would help in her business in town to be able to get some litte pocket money for my upkeep.Iam happy through that i gained much experience in handling customers and how to go about dealing with people in terms of business.

I cleared my 3 yrs course and i got a job in coast region, i decided to rent my own house.i wasnt happy with the kind of life i was living and i had a strong desire to have my own space regardless the size.
My aunt had given me an old computer which i used to train small kids and some adults in the neighbourhood computer skills at a small fee.
I later took a loan from a bank and bought an eighth size of land where i managed to build a temporary house.
I cleared the loan with my salary and i was able take another loan to build a one room
permanent house where i stay now.
i bought a land which i have been able to clear paying through my little salary and savings and there after i built a small house where i live now.
I decided to try poultry farming since i had a plan of targeting the hotels around to supply eggs.
i started poultry farming and supplying eggs to the shops around, workmates and to the neighbors.
I wish to expand my poultry farming and be able to supply more eggs to the big hotels around the south coast region where i reside.
i have one daughter 2 and half years of age and i wish to make her dreams come to reality when she grow up.
During my free time i like reading books and volunteering jobs.i like traveling and

My Business

i work in a public institution and where i earn my monthly salary.
I supply eggs to my workmates, neighbors and shops around.
I chose this kind of business because of the high demand of eggs and we have few poultry farmers, with the hotels and the opening up of big supermarkets around has also given me the motivation to start this kind of business.
My revenues average between Ksh 20,000 - Ksh.25,000 and my expenses are about Ksh.5000-Ksh.7,000 on average so in a month I make Ksh15,000 profit.
I use the profit to help with paying my siblings school fees and expanding my poultry farming.

Loan Proposal

i wish to buy chemicals that used to prepare homemade detergents at 6dollars,this will produce atleast 40 litres of the substance.
1 Litre bottle of the ready detergent i will sell at 0.5, therefore 40 litres will go for 20dollars.
Home-made detergents are easy to prepare, effective and affordable to the community and me as compared to other detergents which are expensive .
My increase will be14 dollars which is a profit and a good deal for that case.
