About Me

I am a married businesswoman living in Kiptangwanyi shopping center with my husband and our three loving children who are all schooling. Kiptangwanyi shopping center is about 45 kilometers from Nakuru town where we do most of our shopping and also administrative issues. I live in plot number 34 at the shopping center house number one. I operate a cereals shop at the shopping center and usually rely wholly on this business in order to meet the basic needs of my family. I also pay school fees of my family from this business. I buy cereals when the harvest is good and the price is usually not very bad at that time. These cereals we then store until when the demand is higher than the supply. I usually take the products to other bigger towns such as Nakuru, Naivasha and Nairobi.. This business is good and has really provided for my family for a long time. I also provide cereals to both boarding and day schools within the area. This is quite good as the returns are usually high. Thus the market for these products is always high.

My Business

My business entails a cereals shop at the shopping center. This shop I started a long time ago and it has been the sole source of living for the whole of my family. We rely on this business in order to sustain our basic needs and also to meet the education needs of our daughters and sons. The business is situated in a suitable location and thus providing me with a wide range of customers. I serve many customers within the locality and sometimes I do take my products to Nairobi and some parts of Eastern province where there is good market for the products especially during the dry season. Maize is the most common commodity that has a wide range of customers. This is because it happens to bet the stable food in Kenya. The main challenges that this business encounter is lack of enough funds to expand the business, frequent droughts that affect the productivity of the area and poor roads especially during the dry season.I hope to expand the business with this loan that I want to apply from Zidisha organization.

Loan Proposal

I am grateful that I have been granted an opportunity to make a loan from Zidisha organization. I intend to use this loan that I will get to buy more maize from the high potential areas where they are still harvesting upto now. This maize will be selling at a good price during the months of April and May. I will therefore have to store and preserve the grain upto this time.
