About Me

I am a 37 year old man, leaving in machakos county in kenya.
I am the fifth born, being the last born of my mother.I have 3 brothers and a sister.
I am schooled up to college, with a diploma in computer repair and maintenance. This was informed by my interest in tinkering with machines.
I have an interest in agriculture, an especially horticulture. I get to farm fast moving vegetables and sell them to customers. This has been informed by by upbringing, coming from an agriculturally dependent family as well as the scarcity of formal employment in my locality.
I do love the outdoors, getting to hike,do nature walks as well as travel.this informs me by observing/learning how people make use of local available resources as well as be informed as to the cultural and social aspects of life of the different communities I get to mingle with.

My Business

I have been doing horticulture farming for about five years now.o will say its a profitable and involving venture.
I have been planting
1) cabbages
2)spinaches and kales
3)peppers
4)butternuts
5)watermelons

I would say the greatest challenge has been availability of a steady supply of water in the farm.the river I utilise has been damed upstream thus reducing the amount of water available to do irrigation.
I have come across hydroponics agriculture and have my interest set to try it out. This system of farming will reduce for me the amount of water to use as well as be able to utilise the vertical space in the green house thus ensuring that my budget for water to irrigate is reduced and have an increase in production within a faster duration.

Loan Proposal

I do purpose to utilize the funds loaned to purchase fertilizers used to top dress the plants during the flowering stage.this will result in round, juicy and beautiful tomatoes that will impress the clients to be supplied.I will also purchase pesticides and a knapsack sprayer. These will be used to prevent damage caused by insects and diseases to the tomato plant. This will ensure that the produce is beautiful and healthy as its delivered to the market.
