About Me

My name is Esther Andiwa Amianda. I stay in Kandutura village of Rongai district in Nakuru county. I am married and blessed with two children aged 10 and 3 years respectively.
I was born in Luanda division of Vihiga county on 16th of August 1982 I went to Athinai primary school and later Athinai secondary school both in makongeni location of Nakuru county. Later I joined Nairobi university for a Bachelor of Arts degree, graduating in 2007. I have been teaching in various secondary schools around the county of Nakuru. Currently, I am teaching at a local secondary school; Mawe day secondary school. I have since settled in Kandutura where we, with my husband, have bought a piece of land.
I started a cyber cafe in Rongai on February this year. This was during the onset of KCSE and KCPE registration. I noticed that a lot of primary and secondary teachers did not have internet connection and that the two cyber cafes in Rongai did not effectively meet the demand. The students were another source especially when the schools were closed and the students were at home idle.

My Business

The cyber cafe offers such services as the internet access, photocopying, lamination of documents, photo development and M-pesa services. I have in place ten modern computers and two printers. There is also a lamination machine and a copier.
The monthly internet connection costs Ksh 12,000, house rent Ksh 4,000 and Ksh 5,000 for one employee. I spend approximately Ksh 5,000 on papers and ink. Monthly income is approximately Ksh 60,000 leaving me with approximate figure of Ksh 34,000.
The risk involved in this business is burglary since the equipments are relatively easy to dispose.

Loan Proposal

I intend to open up another branch with efficient and faster processing computers. I have in mind a computer with the following properties, hard disk of 500GB, a 2GB RAM, processor type of Pentium (R) dual core CPUE500 @3.20GHZ with a 32 bit operating system. This computer costs between Ksh 40,000 to Ksh 45,000. With the amount requested and my savings, I would be able to buy 3 brand new computers with all their accessories. This will beat the competition hands down.
I intend to increase my net income by 100%. This increased income will be sufficient to repay the loan and put up new investments.
