Iam a young man 5.7ft in height.i am currently single because we separated with my wife recently due to matrimonial differences I dropped out of school due to school fees and started to engage in casual businesses.i fellowship with the full gospel churches of Kenya Kandutura.i also engage in other casual work especally when iam not too busy preocupied in the shamba and in my cow.since iam not old i like so much spending my leisure time walking around our village. i came to know of zidisha through the effort of ann wangari at one time when she had been visited by one zidisha officer by the name ANDREW WEBER.he was able to narrate to us the benefits of Zidisha over other financial instititions such as banks .we admired this microfinance and that is why i decided to join it i have also seen its benefits because anumber of my friends have been able to buy motorbikes and expanded their businesses due to zidisha.iam not compuer literate and that is why i sought the help of the husband of ann wangari who is compuer literate
I have not only ventured in livestock rearing but also crop growing. i grow crops such as maize ,bean and tomatoes. One of the challenges i encounter is lack of sufficient water during the dry spell. i grow tomatoes for sale to the nearest market which is in Nakuru For the case of maize and beans ,i sell them to the local brokers. one of the greatest challenges in the sale of beans and maize to the local dealers is that they normally tamper with their weighing scales and at times they normally buy maize at very low prices thus exploiting us. .i have one cow arshire in breed .it has one heifer and i value it so much.i rear it in the adjacent Esageri forest but on sundays i do zero grazing .iam able to get 10 litres of milk in a day and the sale of the milk is able to provide me my daily bread.iam able to fend my family and pay tithe in my church.during the dry spell, i buy hay and nappier at substantial price to supplement some grass that i normally get from my shamba.i normally spray my cow once a week with chemicals such as"delete" and "grenade". i normally use additives such as macklick supper to make the cow stronger.
I intend to spend sh 15000 in clearing 3 acres of forest land that our government has opened for shamba system.Sh 10000 will be spent in buying fertilizers in readiness for the planting season because the rains are almost to fall.sh 12000 will be used to buy certified maize seeds in readiness forthe planting season.sh 6000 will be set aside to help me in paying labourers during the weeding season.I will continue taking care of my cow so that it can continue providing my family with milk. The excess profits from the milk will be used to repay the loan before i harvest the beans and tomatoes to service the loan
