About Me

The urban centre has thrived in the last six years after the post election violence emerging as a favourite re-settlement location for the internally displaced people.
As a family settled in the location since 2008, we have been keen at doing business in Barnabas, culminating in our establishing of an IT training centre which we intend to grow to prosperity.

My Business

Considering that the closest other IT training institution is located in Nakuru town, about 10 kilometers away, I thought it important to establish a computer college at Barnabas. I actualized this idea in July 2013 when Digital Pals Computer College opened its doors to offer competitive computer courses in tandem with the current crave for computer skills training occuring both locally and nationally. Currently, we have 8 computers and 11 students within 2 months of starting operations.

Presently there in need for us to install internet service for us to be able to offer internet related courses. The installation will open the college to a wider scope of content coverage and allow increase in enrollment and in effect more profitability.

Complete installation costs stand at Kshs. 24,000 (USD300). I have Kshs.16,000 (USD200) and need Kshs. 8,000 to be able to conduct the exercise.

I am certain that this service addition will augment our scope in getting more students and in effect translate to more profits.

Loan Proposal

I recently started a computer training college where we are offering basic computer courses. With only three months since opening doors, the college has 11 students across the four 2-hour sessions daily. Presently, there is need for installation of internet to enable us offer internet-related courses. The high demand for internet courses creates room for increased profitability because of the envisioned increase in enrollment. This will also improve our service delivery and enhance our competitive status.

The total cost stands at KES 24000. This will cater for purchase of a router at KES 6,000, switch at KES 11,000, cables/accessories at KES 4000 and technician's fees at KES 3,000. I have raised KES 17,000 and am therefore in need of KES 7,000 to be able to have the installation done.

While our aim is to reach 10 students in each session to allow KES 40,000 in monthly profits, we are strategically positioned to earn much higher profits. Installation of internet will increase our student enrollment to 20 within the next 2 months.

The venture is profitable even at the present and the servicing of the loan at 10% interest is clearly within my scope.
