About Me

My name is Jeremiah Nganga. I was born in 1980 In Kinangop Nyandarua County. I am 7th born in a family of 10. I am currently involved in Dairy farming, the venture i have been in for the last 5 years. i am married with two children. With the 3 acres of land that i own, i decided to enter into dairy farming since it was promising. I learnt this from my parents and the community around who have been very successful in dairy farming.

My Business

I deal with rearing of dairy cattle. Currently i have two cows which produce 30kg of milk per day. With the emergence of milk processing companies such as Brookside and KCC, milk production in this area has been on the rise yet the demand is still high than the supply. Many companies have even undertaken training seminars to farmers on the needs of rearing high quality breeds to increase production. The 30 kgs i produce daily makes an average of 900 per day going by current market price @ksh 30 per Kg. This translates to Ksh 27 000 per month. This brings a net income of Ksh. 17000 per month after deducting the overhead costs. I want to improve on the breeds that will see me with a different breed by the time i will be through with loan repayment. I am requesting a loan of Ksh 70 000 which i will use Ksh 50 000 to purchase two high breed heifers and the rest 20 000 will meet constructing of the sheds and feeding.

Loan Proposal

I want to have an additional high grade heifer which is going to boost my milk production.
My two breeds at the moment do not produce milk the way I could have wanted despite feeding them a lot. I will use part of the loan to construct shed that will reduce wastage when feeding. A quality high breed heifer is equivalent to my two breeds at the moment so I want to change them gradually.
