About Me

I am Daniel Maina and i was born in the year 1985 in a village called kiamaiko nairobi Kenya,i started my primary education in the year 1991 in a nearby school which was known as huruma primary school i completed in the year 1999 then i joined murircua secondary school in the year 2000 then i completed my O levels in the year 2004. In the year 2005 i got employed by an Indian to help in his shop, for about two years. In the year 2007 i started my own business in a village known as Kiptangwanyi trading center,my business have been doing well.now I am married with one kid who is now schooling. I live in Kiptangwanyi trading centre in my own plot, which is plot number 57. This is where my business is. My business entails a boutique and malimali.

My hobbies are travelling, making new friends and playing instruments mostly guitar.

Something unique about my business is that i periodically entertain my customers by playing them a tune using my guitar while shopping and they find it interesting and this makes most of them yearn to come back to my premise more often.

My Business

My business is a boutique and selling of all sorts of products usually referred as Malimali. These involves sale of items such as utensils, cutlery, bulbs, cooking pots ,sufurias and other home products. In the boutique I sell all sorts of womens', Men's and Children's wear. i also sell shoes. the income i get from my business i use it to sustain my family, fund my loan, add more stock and buy school uniforms and shoes for sale. Since Kiptangwanyi is a centre situated in a rural community demand for my goods comes as a result of long distances consumers have to travel to urban areas to buy the products i sell. Therefore they choose to buy the products from my premise since they     will save their pockets from fares. My customers prefer my business to the rising competition since i always ensure that there are no stock outs. this greatly saves my customers from dissapointments and inconveniences when they want to buy their desired products. The  risk my business encounters is sometimes i get dead stocks from wears(clothes) due to fluctuating fashion trends by my clients. However i am able to overcome that through good forecasting and proactive approach before i buy new stock(wears) by checking my consumers needs first. The sale of school uniforms however has become unsustainable due to the rising demand as most of the day schools in Kiptangwanyi have been upgraded to boarding schools and most children have joined these schools from this community hence an increase in continuous supply and sale of school uniforms. Due to limited funds to procure for the school uniforms, shoes and sports wear needed by my clients i hereby request for a loan to enable me to start with a larger stock which will enable me to constantly supply the uniforms continuosly to my clients and to avoid stockouts which may be a great disadvantage as my clients would opt to seek the services elsewhere. i still need to keep my customers at check so as to keep my business moving and moreover attract more customers. this project will also help me in managing my risks as with school uniforms their is minimized chances of having deadstocks. the income i get from sales will use it to service my loan and keep extra coins to be used to buy maximum stock of school uniforms/shoes/sports wear  especially when schools are reopening since demand is high at that time. Thank you!

    Hello. The greatest humiliation in life, is to work hard on something from which you expect great appreciation, and then fail to get it. I acknowledge the continued good and welcomed effort my lenders have put in funding my loan which is at 98% now. Surely your effort will never go unrewarded. God bless you all. Thank you.

    To all my loan lenders if it were not for the effort that you put in making my dreams valid i would not be on my wall page typing this....Thats why i credit you good people for helping me sail against the tides. My success has always had a mention of you. This has changed my life positively. Therefore as change is inevitable i reckon my Loan lenders as the CATALYSTS of CHANGE. Thank you!

    Daniel,

    Zidisha doesn't allow partial funding at
    this time. But you can refile and perhaps
    ask for a lesser amount.

    Hello Daniel, I hope you are not discouraged and try another loan application for the purchase of school uniforms. You might have more success in fully funding loans if you are able to request smaller loans with shorter repayment periods. Jan

    I once again thank all my lenders for bringing me this far. The progress is good and i appreciate. My quote for today comes from an African leader known as Mike Adenuga...He says..;
    "The harder you work the luckier you get"
