About Me

My names are Wilfred Cheruiyot Tonui from Mogotio,Kenya.I am 45 years old. I am a husband to Jackline Jelagat and a father to five beautiful children(three boys and two girls). We all live together here in Mogotio Centre, where I have my business too. I come from a humble Christian family whereby my father is also a Deacon my church.I do fellowship at Mwariki P.C.E.A Church together with my family under the District Pastor Simon Gachiri .
My wife is a teacher by profession and she teaches at Kambi ya Moto Primary School here in Mogotio area.We live in our own plot and I am practicing farming in my farm. Thank you.

My Business

Kenya is based on a primary sector. Therefore any initiative aimed at improving the condition of the production in this sector attracts the attention of Government. Currently, farming in general and poultry in particular are the main source of cash income for the rural people.but the conditions in which poultry keeping is practiced is poor in traditional farms, weather conditionas and predators sometimes reduce the efforts of producers to nothing.
Modern Poultry farms exist and they work mostly with imported laying chicken and broilers. There are not more breeders who are working in a semi-intensive or intensive way with local chicken in order to improve their quality. However, through slightly improving farming conditions you can achieve satisfactory results and earn enough to cover the most important needs as a farmer. That is why I am commited to enhancing my small poultry unit by a mix of local chicken with roostersof a quality breed adapted to our community in order to get a successful products.
Products does not need a specific promotion policy but I will try to build a good relationship with my customers to avoid keeping the poultry too long when the sale time arrives. The project to strengthen a poultry units needs continuous innovation.
The previous results are as follows:
(a) Sales of matured roosters =200*450=Ksh90,000
(b) Sales of eggs per tray@ksh300 *600 trays =Ksh.180,000
(c) Sales of chicken manure per sack @Ksh50*110 sacks=Ksh.5500

Total net sales=Kshs.275,500.

Expenses of the month.
Layers mash meal 36 bags weekly*4wks @3250 per bag=Ksh.117,000
Rooster mash meal 45 bags weekly*4wks@2010 per bag =Ksh.90,450
Electricity per month =Ksh.6100
Water =Ksh.7300
Veterinary doctor & Drugs every 2 weeks *4wks =Ksh.16,210
Labor assistance 2 [email protected],000 per head =Ksh.12,000

Total expenses per month Ksh.249,060

Total net profit of the month Ksh.26,440

Therefore, through the Zidisha platform,I will double my monthly revenues sales and I will manage my farm by adding 300 more layers and 100 roosters. Eventually I will be the sole supplier of the layers eggs and roosters in the major town of Mogotio and its environs. Thank you

I presume Wilfred has defaulted on this loan as it is now showing as "Completed Loan" even though very little has been repaid. However, there was absolutely no notification/explanation -- perhaps someone can let us lenders know what the situation is??

Hi to you all my lenders.I was not able to honour my agreement of repaying my loan on time, which has caused my loan to have arrears. There was an infestation of the Newcastle disease to my three months old chicken, which caused all my chicken to die.Now i have recovered from that pain and i am intending to start paying my loan.Unfortunately i have been quiet for a while and now i am back and i will start servicing my loan as usual from next month second week.Kindly i have no more words to tell you m,y lenders only to ask for forgiveness.

Hi,My names are Wilfred Tonui.Actually my business is still doing average and that is why i have chosen to upgrade my payments until next week.I am confident that as from the start of the coming week,i will be stable in matters related to money.I had taken my grandfather to the referral Hospital in Eldoret, which has caused me to close my business for the last two week.I will embark for my normal business from Tuesday next week.I will also make prompt payments comes my next installment. Thanks a lot.
