My name is Francis Erzah, I come from Kikam in the western region of Ghana.
I began basic school at St Augustinus preparatory school. From there I entered St. Marys boys senior high school where I did general science. I continued to the university of Cape Coast where I did Medical Laboratory Technology.
I'm currently working in my own lab.At the university I stayed in ogua hall. After one year at school, I left the hall to settle at a hostel closed to campus. I chose a friend as my roommate ,we all shared ideas and also learnt together in the room as we did a common programme which is Medical laboratory science.
We periodically go for a vocational training programme to enlighten our practically on what we we're studying.
After school, I did my one year mandatory internship at Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital, Kumasi. The hospital is the second largest hospital in Ghana, I rotated in the various laboratories in the hospital. Due to that rotation I had a lot of practical knowledge in my field of study. I stayed with my uncle in Kumasi, where I always moved to work. I'm currently single and working in my laboratory. I'm a Christian ,I attend the Church of Pentecost, my mom and dad also attend the same church. I was born into the church. I became the youth leader in my church since 2010 and I have impacted positively into the life of the youth of my church. I'm currently the chief organist or pianist of my my church, I play keyboard in almost 4 church as part time duty. On Sundays I play for my church but on other days apart from Sunday I visit the other church to help the play the keyboard or play the keyboard for them. As a renowned Medical Laboratory Scientist, one of my aims is to upgrade myself to the international world of quality laboratory services. I'm achieving that by being a certified member of the American Society for Clinical Pathologist, international.
I currently hold a certificate as a Medical Laboratory Scientist from the certifying body, Allied Health Professions Council, Ghana.
I also hold a diploma from American electronics and computer institute, Ghana.
I'm Jack of all trades master of all. I also sing and play piano very well every Sunday and Saturday at church. I have got myself 3 acres of coconut farm.
I'm also interested in research, I have been part of many researches. One of which I completed with my supervisor was on the topic "in-vitro antioxidant and wound healing properties of the leaves of Combretum dolichopetalum " publisher is journal of applied pharmaceutical science, japs. I'm very knowledgeable and good in entrepreneurship. This is to tell my honourable lenders that I mean business in life. I didn't come to this world to mess up my life ,neither did I come to live aimlessly. With God on my side, l excellence will be my portion.
My name is Francis Erzah, I attended University of Cape Coast ,where I read Medical Laboratory Science. As a medical laboratory scientist, working in the laboratory has been my ultimate interest and thanks be to God and Zidisha for a tremendous act in my life. My laboratory is one of the most renowed in the district and most often receives quite adequate number of clients. Since the establishment of the laboratory I have been able to effect a change in my community by providing free screening for the community members, especially food sellers and drivers. The laboratory does a wide range of test which include liver function test, renal function test malaria test, widal test, blood group, sickle cell etc.
Each test has it own price ,the tests prices ranges from Ghc 10 to Ghc50. With this moderate price, people are able to afford test in my laboratory. This makes it possible for me to pay the zidisha loan on time.
The staffs at my laboratory are well qualified and learned, because of that we receive client from various towns and this increases our profit margin.
Laboratory test is now the most concerned aspect of the hospital because the world is now evidenced based. We deal with evidence before treatment. Work starts at 8:00 am and closes at 4:00 pm. There is enough working hours for us to leave no stone unturned, we work very well to earn for the repayment of the zidisha loan. The laboratory normally uses automated machines for some tests and others manually done per day.
I started my own business after my internship at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, 2015. With the little money I raised during my internship, I open my own laboratory in Atonsu,Kumasi . At my laboratory, I can perform basic laboratory tests, example, Haemoglobin concentration estimation, malaria, typhoid, urinalysis hepatitis B and C, sickle cell test. Each test has it price and it ranges from 5 GHS to 15 GHS with malaria having the least price and Hepatitis B the highest price. In a day, I can get about five people visiting my laboratory. I need money to buy some reagents for my laboratory. I need money to boost my laboratory. The main reason why I need the why the loan is to start buy reagents which will enable me begin test on kidney and liver.
The kidney and the liver play important role metabolism, they can be affected by bacteria, inflammations and other pathological disorders. Most people in my neighborhood do not know how vital these organs are so they carelessly allow diseases like bacteria and virus affect it, eg. hepatitis B and C. Because of this, I want to take it upon myself to do those test in my laboratory for the people to have it done to realise disorders concerning the their liver and kidneys.
I need this money because my father who sometimes supports me in times of need has lost his job and now I'm financially handicapped. The amount i have in my account now is not enough to buy the reagents i need for my laboratory to move on. So I'm humbly pleading with you to help me with the requested amount to enable me get those reagents. When I get those reagents, i will be able to test for the liver enzymes, AST,ALT, Bilirubin, GGT, Proteins and I will also test for this analyte in the kidney, creatinine, urea. All these test determine the liver and kidney functions respectively. Please help me help my community and my country as well by making them realize disorders on their livers and kidneys. Part of the profit I get is used to cater for my father has lost is job and now old, some for myself and part for my brother who is schooling. When I start these tests I'm optimistic and assured of making enough profit to pay the loan in full and
