my name is phylis mwangi,i do a mobile business of vikoi and vitenge which i get from arusha, when i say a mobile business means i dont have a shop i take the goods to the clients myself,i started the business after i got tired of searching for a job,it doing well coz it feeds me and my five children and am able to pay their fees though in instalment.i live at kahawa west and not many people around there sell the batik vikois and the culture printed vitenge that i sell so there is ready market for them.
i buy a kikoi for 350shs from arusha then sell for 700shs at bargain i sell atleast 600shs.thats the last price.i buy atleast 20 vikois after every two weeks.for the vitenges i buy a peace for 1300shs at arusha then sell for 2000shs least1800shs.i have only buy 5 vitenges after every two weeks.the business is good but since i started with small capital am not like able to meet the demand of the clients especially for the vikois.i get my goods from Tanzania thus promoting a good relationship with our neighbouring country.the vitenges are animal printed and others are printed with different cultural tools like the stools, sword and shield hence promoting our African culture and thats the reason the are loved.
i will use the loan to add stock to my business which is already existing so that i may be able to meet the customers demand and from hence i will be able to pay back the loan that i have borrowed as early as possible to give room to other borrowers and also so that Zidisha can increase my loan limit.
