About Me

My name is Alphonce Kyalo Mutuku. I was born in 1990.I was born in Machakos which is in Eastern part of our country Kenya. I am the only male child in my family.Being the male child, I have responsibilities on my shoulders especially if you come from a poor background as I am. This is the main reason why I started my business of selling fruits and also keeping goats. I thank my parents for educating me to the level of secondary education. I am planning to go to college in future when I save enough money to pay for my school fees. At the moment, the model I use to save money is to re-invest. From the proceeds of the fruit business,I buy goats.I started with one goat and today I have more than ten. It is the same model I have used to expand my business. Now that Zidisha has come to my life, I can hope for a better future.

My Business

I started my business in the year 2012 after seeing my people suffer to buy fruits 3 kilometers away. I started small coz I started with a capital of Ksh 500 where I made a profit of Ksh 100. Today I buy stock worthy Ksh 2,000 and I make an average profit of Ksh 600. I also sell fruit juices when certain fruits are in season and also when its summer coz the sun that time around is very hot.in good day I make a profit of Ksh 1,500 when I combine the two. I have been able to buy goats from the proceeds of my business which I sell when there holidays like Christmas and Easter holidays. Through my business I have been able to support my mother to pay school of my last born sister who has not finished secondary education. Now am planning to go college to hone my skills in business. I am very optimistic not that I have known Zidisha life can only be better.

Loan Proposal

When I get the loan , I will construct a temporary shade which will help me to have a base in my business. I have talked to the relevant authority to built the shade just like the other vendors in my area. I have been hawking the fruits from customer to customer. My clients have requested me to have a place where when they come to our local town where they can find me when they visit the market. I have seen this as an opportunity for my expansion and also it will give ample to time to concentrate more on the business. I intend to buy 8 strong poles (to act as stands) @ ksh 200 which total Ksh 1,600 ,20 medium poles 20 poles(to act as slab) @ 150 to bring a total of Ksh 3000 ,then buy 2 ply wood which I will put on top of the slab @ Ksh 1600 ,then buy a polythene paper heavy gauge which will be used a roof and will cost me Ksh 1,000. I will also buy timber 3 by 2 inhes I will need 20 feet @ 45 a feet which will bring Ksh 900 and 6 by 1 inches which I will use to build shelves 30 feet costing the same as 3by 2 with a total of Ksh 1,350 . The cost of the structure will be; Ksh 9,450 Material and Ksh 1,000 for labour. I will also inject almost Ksh 5,000 to buy more fruits coz I will be having fruits for the kiosk and also for my existing clients. Am Expecting to get more profits from this venture. I am looking forward for good response and I promise i will not let you down in repayment of the loan.Thank you in advance.
