About Me

I am 24 years old from Kathiani Machakos County,I attended both primary and secondary school at my home village before moving to the city,I couldn't help raise funds for my college education.I come to Nairobi to look for a job,I landed a job at a construction where I was working as a casual laborer.I did the work for 1 a year before I quit due to chest problem,I thought of going back to my village,but one mid day as I was moving around the estate I saw a crowed of school children in a small shop where food is sold.I though of a location where there are so many schools and with $ 30 I was to use to travel to my village I started selling food to the school children.There is a big population in this area,with different communities.I am a football fun and anything that can add an extra coin.

My Business

I am a service provider,I serve food to school children.The food I serve include chips (made from deep fried irish potato wich is dried),bajia (made from deep fried irish potato with food colour),chapati (made from wheat floor),porridge,tea,smokie,sasauge and githeri (a mixture of maize and beans).There is high demand for the foods because of the big population of the schools around with both students and teachers being our customers,individuals from surrounding families also enjoy our snacks.A130 kilogram of irish potato cost $ 55, 2 kilogram of maize floor cost $ 3 almost the same to 2 kilogram of wheat floor.
I spent averagely @ 250 to purchase food and fuel and get an income of $ 320 by the end of the day,I use @ 20 to pay my four employees.I make a profit of $ 50 on average daily.This is used to improve the business and savings.

Loan Proposal

I will entirely use the loan to add my stock,I will purchase 2 dozens of wheat flour($ 27) ,One-130 kilogram Irish potato bag ($ 55),10 litres of cooking oil ($15) .This will also help me add one more employee since this loan will increase my daily expense from $ 250 to $ 340 ,increasing my profit margin by another 40 %.I will be able to open another site after using the loan for week since the schools are open and the children will be coming to buy food,my price is also reasonable and pocket friendly to the surrounding families.
