I am a 27 year old born in the village of Kamolo ,Nyatike district. Migori county. I am a third born in a family of five. I have studied up to a degree level. The reason unto why I started this business was due to joblessness among youths in our country and to raise some money for my school fees. I therefore decided to create my own employment opportunity to arrest poverty and empower myself economically. The income i get from the business,I use to feed our family and again help facilitate my education and the community members who are in dare need. The common culture of the people around where I live advocates for education and business ventures as a means of eradicating most of the societal economic pressure.I like social work activities and reading inspirational books about life and entrepreneurship.
My business has started growing on a faster rate following the previous loan I received from lenders in Zidisha in my first application. My business entails selling wall curtains, pillows and ready made clothes in kayole.I started my business through personal savings and loans from friends which has enabled my business to be of this far, zidisha loan of Ksh.8000 I received upon my first application has also boosted me together with the efforts and passion I have for my business. The most highly demanded products are the curtains and the pillows alongside blankets due to the weather present at this region. cloth like women trousers and men's shirts are also of high demand now. I decided to choose this kind of business because in my neighborhood, people fancy elegant cloth ware decorative houses. Previously any restocking, I incurred a total cost of USD170 of which I prospect the revenue of about USD240 but after the loan the cost incurred in restocking grew to USD 200 and the revenue got grew to USD 300. My business is profitable because it has many customers and the profit I do realize from it, I reinvest in growing the business and saving partly for my school fee as well as sustaining my life in urban center. My business faces the risk of change in taste, fashion and preference but I have mitigated this by being in touch with the customers on their preferences and fashion choices before any order is made.
I will use the loan to add my stock especially the most products on demand like wall curtains, I will spend $50, other products to take $40 and I also planned to introduce new stock to my business due to demand of my customers. Men's ware to cost me $60, and the rest of the amount remaining to for running costs. Upon doing this, my life and that of of the family members will continue to be in good condition likewise to the demand of my customers will be met being that they will be happy with the products.
