About Me

I am a 39 year old christian, BSc. I.T, talented and with a good will for life. Married to Mary and we have two children.
I have have now been promoted as the head of academics from a teaching assistant in a Nairobi based institution called Kenya Christian Industrial Training Institute.
I was born in Nakuru in a family of seven and I was brought in Nairobi where I live with my wife and daughter to date. I have been doing poultry business and I also own a shop that sells purses and handbags.
I want to rear goats. Kenya is an Agricultural based country. Goat rearing does not require much land and do not bear high cost to run. The site of the project will at a small land owned by our family. I will purchase does and bucks of one year of age so as to maximize on the loan.

My Business

Goat farming requires less capital and investment than raising any other livestock. I will start goat farming business with a very small investment but in the result I will get more profits than any other livestock.
I will earn some extra money by selling manure to crop farmers who use goat manure in their field because it is a very high quality organic fertilizer, I will sell goat meat it has a great demand locally and this rate is increasing rapidly day by day, I will sell goat milk is enriched with many necessary nutrition elements and it is easily digestible which makes it a huge demand locally and also goat skin has a high demand and value locally.
After the goats have reproduced, I will sell young ones at a profit in order to maintain a healthy maximise on the profits.
The profits will be used to take care of my family, siblings and my dad.

Loan Proposal

I will be adding a second group of fifty chicks, which will cost me $57.22 to order, feeding the chicks with my home made feeds from the farm will cost me $176.24, vaccination and Management will cost me $57.22.
I am supplying eggs and birds at Ndumbu-ini, Uthiru and parts of Kangemi which are my neighbouring centres and the customers are overwhelming.
I am required to continue putting more effort in increasing the number of birds from my two sources that is Kenchic Limited and Kenya Agricultural Research Institute in order to meet these demand.
My birds will be dual-purpose birds which means they will be reared for both meat(broilers) and eggs(layers).
These birds are highly profitable in my country because of short growth to maturity, accelerated weight increase, fulfill a market requirement for a bird that is less intensively grown and has great taste qualities and in high demand by the consumer.

According to an article by Wazua blog site on Small Business Kenya dated Saturday, July 28th, 2012: kenbro is a good investment choice. It says:
“High food prices, inflation has hit hard on chicken farmers in Kenya. Matters have not helped much by the lack of a breed that maximizes their profitability like the new Kenbro breed from Kenchic. This breed is a layer but on maturity it sells for meat as well. Such a breed is sure to fetch any farmer more cash at the end of one cycle as they will benefit from the sale of eggs as well as chicken meat.”

I request lenders to consider and help fund this project.
Sincerely
Simon
