I am 35 years of age born and brought up in Antuanduru location, Tigania East District, Meru County in the Eastern part of Kenya. I went to Antuanduru Primary School, then Maua Girls Secondary school before proceeding to Kabete Technical Training College in Nairobi where I obtained a Certificate in pharmacy.
I am a resilient person who believes in handwork, prayers and commitment in anything I do. When I was growing up I realize that most people in the village were unable to afford proper medical care due to lack of money and the long distance to the hospital. I therefore decided to start my own pharmacy to be able to assist the less fortunate people in the society who needed proper medical care.
The business at the time was not so good but it improved with time. I recently got married and blessed with a son of 6 months now and I hope he’ll become a physician like me and help me continue to save lives. During my free time I do enjoy singing and reading inspiring medical books.
My business deals with dispensing viral antibiotic and fungal drugs, as well as conducting some minor dressing to patients. The services I offer are so much in demand since most people do fall sick from bacterial, fungal and viral infections and due to the high level of poverty, they cannot afford medication from private and government hospitals which prove costly and are far away. For every purchase I make I normally incur a purchase cost of about USD120, from which on average, I realize revenue of USD160. Every purchase do not last more than a month. I normally use the part of profit I earn to sustain my young family and the remaining balance I use to expand my business.
Thank you lenders for my previous loan. My business has improved tremendously since i was able to buy more medical supplies for my chemist. With this new loan, I will get more stock to meet the growing demand especially this dry and dusty weather that comes with a lot of respiratory and cold-related diseases. I intend to give back to the community by ensuring all people around me are able to access medical attention at a fair cost and also within their reach. I'll use 90% of the money to buy more stock, the remaining 10% i'll procure a new shelf to place the new inventory. This way, my business will be able to generate more revenue since I will meet a higher customer satisfaction and there will be no cases where a patient comes and finds medicine out of stock.
Thanks and God bless Zidisha community
