About Me

Hello Zidisha lenders, am veronicah, from nakuru county upendo area, i completed high school in the year 2012.due to lack of college fees I started to sell tomatoes and oranges here at wakulima market to enable me to cope with my utility bills and see if I could raise some money for college. I live alone here in town but my mom who is a single mother lives in the rural part of Nakuru with my brother who is at class seven in primary school. However the business started doing well and saw that I would enroll to college at a future date. I intend to do mass communication but will have to to do it part time.i started this business with as little as $23 and have seen it grow to be worth $170. This has encouraged me to aim higher because I can see more growth in the future. i would like to see this business grow and be a big one, that is I want to be a wholesaler in this market. I am a Christian by faith and do so to m y family. I am hardworking, honest and ambitious person. Given this chance I will be able to take my business to even greater heights. If the business grow further I have an ambition of diversifying my business to include more ventures like transporting farm produce and also setting up a green house to grow more produce.
in a free day i go for evening walks just to relieve my mind of the hard days work. i also love going to watch wild animals around the park, this gives me peace of mind. i started the business of selling fresh produce early last year and have seen it grow bit by bit till now. nakuru is known to be good in the area of producing fresh produce because it sells to other counties in kenya the produce. I work till Saturday afternoon that is when I get to have my free time. On Sundays I go to church to meet other members of my church who also happens to be also business partners with me sometimes we discuss matters affecting us and see how to cope with them. We do encourage each other psychologically and also help each other financially, through merry go rounds we contribute as women members of the church and help each other advance economically.
If offered this credit I would increase my stock and make it bigger. Of late I have seen that there is competition from the large retailers who have been offering their products at a lower price. That is why am sure by increasing the stock I would be at a par with them. On a usual day I make around $17. And after deducting all expenses am left with $8. Monthly I make around $283, this helps me in paying my utility bills and helping my mom who does not work. This credit would have a great impact in my business.

My Business

Hello Zidisha lenders I sell tomatoes and oranges here at wakulima market to enable me to cope with my utility bills i started this business with as little as $23 and have seen it grow to be worth $170. i started the business of selling fresh produce early last year and have seen it grow bit by bit till now. nakuru is known to be good in the area of producing fresh produce because it sells to other counties in kenya the produce. Most people here have to use tomatoes for cooking and that is why the demand here is great. There are also some traders from other towns around Kenya who come to buy the oranges and tomatoes here so that they can sell in their towns at a profit and that raises the demand for the produce. There are also big and small hotels who requires the tomatoes to use in their daily crockery. Also there are dozens of cafes who also require the same produce. With good financing one can be able to tap to that market and ensure he/she gets his market share. Of late I have been overwhelmed by the demand since my stock is small and usually gets depleted fast by consumers who are at the lower end, i.e those who buy to go and cook at home. I would want to also seek tenders in future to supply those customers who buy in bulk i.e hotels, supermarkets, cafes and many more. Selling tomatoes have good returns since here in Nakuru you can buy them in near by farms at a lesser cost and sell them at a bit high. The profits are fair. The only risk I face is due to perishability of the goods but with good sales and better storage one can get through.
If offered this credit I would increase my stock and make it bigger. Of late I have seen that there is competition from the large retailers who have been offering their products at a lower price. The credit repayment will be financed by the business to the last coin.
