About Me

I am Lawrence and I love education. Am always happy when I see people making it academically. I have a BSc mathematics, MSC Industrial mathematics and a postgraduate diploma in mathematics education. I get the opportunity to encourage and lead students to higher heights in education. In the town I teach, unfortunately some parents don't see the need for educating their children. I have helped some students with potential but getting the finances to cater for them and my family gradually became burdensome. So I took to driving a taxi and selling of some shoes to make extra income. This has in a way affected the extra time I get for the junior high school students and primary school students I give extra tuition for free. I am happily married and expecting my first child. That means extra attention for my wife. I love to play chess and listen to music.

My Business

I use a taxi and sell shoes as well. The more reason I choose driving a taxi is that I don't leave in the same town I teach, so when am coming to school or going back home to see my lovely wife I pick passengers. This will give me extra money for the day and also help workers who also don't stay der to get back. So on the average after buying gas for the car, I get an average of $12 a day plus free transportation for myself to and from work. Again, I needed to make more income so I looked at the business of selling shoes. Where I don't have to go round looking for customers, as most customers are around me. My colleague teachers, church members and friends as well. I make an average of $30 a month as profit. The profit aids me in supporting some needy students, my family and putting some back into the business. If am able to get additional funds, I will put it in the shoe business by buying more. A pair cost $5 to $10 at the wholesale, and I sell it between $7 to $12 depending on the quality. I believe with hard work and determination time will make me successful as well as others.

Loan Proposal

If am able to secure the loan, I will use it to increase the number of shoes I buy from the distributor. A pair of shoe cost between $5 to $10. So if about $40 I can get between 4 to 8 additional shoes. I can make a profit of $12 within a month. Which I will reinvest it into the business. When I begin to make more profit, I can help more students.
